The property had a gorgeous traditional style and the decor oozes character. The saltwater pool and breakfast patio areas are lovely too. Delicious coconut ice cream on arrival.
It’s quite expensive and at the end of a not very beautiful street - though it’s safe to wander around the area. We arrived in the evening after a really long journey and desperate for something to eat, only to be told they only do breakfast - and couldn’t prepare us even a sandwich. The receptionist couldn’t recommend somewhere for us eat within walking distance, so we went to be hungry and unimpressed.

Kleinschalig hotel waar er nog persoonlijke aandacht is. Super vriendelijk personeel. Heerlijke ontbijt met elke dag schaaltje vers fruit en de heerlijke cappuccino. Er heerst fijne en gezellige sfeer. Zwembad is heerlijk. Erg prettig dat er airconditioning aanwezig is. Hotel ligt dicht bij centrum

I enjoyed staying in a traditional / local hotel, and generally liked the decor and the feel of the place. Staff was very nice and attentive to my requests. The coffee, whether at breakfast or during the day, is very good.
The bathroom could have more light and would also benefit from a deep cleanse. Although staff claims the area is safe, it is quite dark and lonely in the evenings. As a solo woman traveller, I felt uncomfortable with comments from men living nearby while I was walking back to the hotel from Souposo (a restaurant 5 mins away).

Het personeel was heel vriendelijk, echt lieve meisjes die alles onder controle hadden en je steeds met alles hielpen. Ook leuk dat de eigenaar zichtbaar en aanspreekbaar was. Hij kwam 's morgens een babbeltje slaan met zijn gasten en hij gaf ons super goede tips voor leuke uitstapjes en restaurants. Wat ik ook bijzonder vond was dat we onze bagage gewoon mochten laten staan in de kamer tijdens onze tweedaagse trip naar de jungle. Na onze trip kregen mijn zoon en ik zelfs een upgrade, een kamer met twee aparte bedden. Het zwembad en terras waren heerlijk, alsook de koffie van Coffee Mama (die je kan kopen en als souvenier meenemen naar huis, 2 huizen verder in de straat in het gelijknamig koffiehuisje.) Het hotel is echt een groene, rustige oase in het centrum van de stad. Je hebt niet het gevoel dat je midden in de stad verblijft. Grappig huisdier: de schildpad. Ook fijn dat een deel van je geld naar goede doelen gaat zoals bescherming van de Surinaamse fauna (slangen en schildpadden). Als je houdt van sfeer en gezelligheid i.p.v de onpersoonlijkheid van de grote resort ben je hier aan het juiste adres.
De kamer mocht van ons elke dag gekuist worden i.p.v. om de 2 dagen, ook de handdoeken mochten elke dag vervangen worden. Had ik dat gezegd dan had de eigenaar daar zeker voor gezorgd. Dus ik had het beter ter plaatse gemeld dan hier in een review 😁 De badkamer is aan modernisering toe, alhoewel het ook wel zijn charme heeft
