Wouldn't hesitate to go back
Pros:

Really nice staff and good to see investment going into a hotel.

Cons:

The eggs. It's not a deal breaker but the boiled eggs were rock hard after asking for soft and the fried eggs a few days later were a rubbery lump. That's my only criticism.

We had a great stay and would highly recommend 😊
Pros:

It was ocean front, very walkable to restaurants, shops and transport. The room was huge as was the bathroom. The breakfast was fantastic and the staff were fantastic, always smiling and making sure our stay was comfortable. The bed was comfortable and the shower had great pressure.

Cons:

The hotel was great, the room door did slam shut rather quickly and was loud but really was a tiny problem.

Pros:

Only issue was the mattress was very firm which gave us both severe back ache. The hotel could do with some updating
which I understand you are in the process of extending so that may be the reason.
Not sure if it was end of season but not enough restaurants available for decent food. Wetherspoons not our thing.

Cons:

Blinds in bedroom bit tricky and unfortunately one broke and wouldn't open again. The front bedroom was great for the sea view but very noisy re traffic but that is what it is. The room size excellent but needs some updating. needed.

Pros:

Most staff were helpful, a couple were friendly.
It was good that eggs were cooked to order.

Cons:

Our room and bathroom were disappointing, they did not live up to the blurb on the web site.
The furniture was mismatched, and did not complement each other,the chairs and settee were small and uncomfortable.
No thought had been given in decorating, either room, being plain white, no pictures on the bare walls, It was described as being a warm & welcoming atmosphere- a boutique hotel that had been refurbished. The bath panel is desperately in need of being replaced, it looks awful making the room smells of rotting wood - the paint is peeling.
There is very little sign of an extensive refurbishment, even the carpet in the corridors is very marked and stained, all the signs are still referring to the Admiral hotel.
Finally there is no convenient mirror in the bedroom.
The bed was OK but it was not the memory mattress as listed on the website.

Great sea view
Pros:

We loved the sea view, the comfortable big bed and the luxurious goose down duvet.

Cons:

There was no chopped fresh fruit at breakfast, no tissues in the room and the very damaged bath panel. The shower was difficult to operate and there was more than enough space in the huge bathroom for a separate walk-in shower. Also there was no suitcase trestle and one door on the free standing wardrobe could not be opened due to its position in the large bedroom.

Not four stars maybe two
Pros:

The staff were friendly but not enough of them. No one on reception during the day.

The shower did not work properly and they could not fix it.

Overall good stay
Pros:

Location was perfect 5 minute walk from ferry terminal. Breakfast was very good and staff very friendly. Beds were comfy and lift was available. Hairdryer towels and toiletries in room and coffee tea facilities in every room.

Cons:

Rooms quite basic would need armchair or sofa. Also accommodation would benefit from having a residents tv lounge not just a bar. Back bedrooms very noisy on friday and saturday nights due to pub at back. Unfortunately we had no TV in room as the remote was missing.

Excellent hotel in a great, central location
Pros:

Location, elevator (not always a given in old buildings), breakfast (good choice of hot and cold and the best poached egg i've ever had), kettle in room, Freeview Play HD TV and streaming platforms, friendly staff, luggage storage for early arrival/late departure

Cons:

Shower wasn't as hot as could be but warm enough, nearby bars noisy late at night at the weekend so bring ear plugs. That's about it

Pros:

The staff were very good. The position was good, very close to the ferry and shops. Room was large and the shower was great.

Cons:

Don't go there on a Saturday, there was a 'rave' or something similar close by which was extremely noisy till 2pm. The corridor carpet was badly stained.

A large room with an annexe and spectacular views. Adequate furniture. Comfortable bed. Real coffee maker.
