Madilao Hotel

Great value and for value it was beyond belief. Top class all around. The staff, paticularly Somsak were charming and really helpful. I would definitely stay here again.

We stayed 4 wonderful nights at the Madilao Hotel in Luang Prabang. The hotel is situated on the other side of the river, but it is no big deal to get to the old town, either by shuttle bus, bike (both free) or taxi. And there's another great way: taking the bamboo rafts from Sunset View. Just ask reception, they will give you vouchers. At the raft, WhatsApp the guys (the number is posted there) and five minutes later they will be there.
The hotel is absolutely relaxing, with very nice staff, good food (we loved the breakfast, but dinner is also great), a fantastic pool and balcony (we spent almost every night there) and wonderful, big rooms. There are some nice restaurants on this side of the river, so there's no need to go to the old town for dinner (if you've just returned from a day trip). We would definitely stay here again.

Such a calm, beautiful place. It was serene to wake up to the sight of fog rolling down the distant green hills. It was the perfect escape from the city. I enjoyed the free shuttle service into town, but a LOCA was also reasonably priced. It's out of the main tourist bustle of Luang Prabang, but not so far that you're isolated.

My room was spacious, clean, and well equipped. Beautiful interior and decor and firm mattress. The staff were all so helpful and kind. Breakfast was good. It isn't the cheapest place to stay but considerably inexpensive for the value you get.

When I come back to LP, I'm absolutely staying here again. Thank you so much, Madilao!

Beautiful place to stay. The staff, food, rooms, pool and gardens where all amazing. Little bit far from main area but have shuttle bus and can also get a raft across river.
Very claean and staff all very helpful. Also have free bike hire .
Large room, comftable bed and hot shower.

I arrived here, after staying at a few hotel/guest houses in town. This place is over the river, across a wooden bridge, only suitable for bikes, but you can get here by car of course. Just saying. Anyhow, I loved my room, only the aircon wasn't working so good. I mentioned it and got an upgrade to a fabulous room. And they couldn't have been nicer about it. I cannot recommend this place highly enough. If you're considering Luang Prabang, save yourself the hassle and just book here. It's amazing. The pool, the fixtures and fittings. Excellent.

Hôtel au top des standards européens. Très belle et grande chambre paisible avec une literie exceptionnelle. Tout paraît comme neuf. Petit déjeuner inclus et possible restauration le soir.De plus les dirigeants sont français et de très bons conseils. On peut prendre gratuitement à proximité de l'hôtel un radeau bambou traditionnel pour traverser la rivière en accédant à la presqu'île. Je le recommande pour un séjour à Luang Prabang.

Gehobene Ausstattung, alles sauber. Tolles Gym, Handtücher am Pool. Alle sehr nett.

Éloigné du centre mais outre les 2 navettes gratuites par jour, il est possible de prendre un mini bac qui amène de l'autre côté de la Nam Tha et permet de déambuler sur la rive jusqu'au centre de Luang Prabang. Tourner à droite en sortant de l'hôtel et 300m sur la route ensuite suivre le panneau.

Staff were lovely, restaurant had great food and reasonably priced, nice pool and gym too.
