Nothing to like the staff very rude i asked them to change my dates as i’ve been booking 5 nights and totally paid after i came from Barcelona and for the bad weather and storm this week ,i asked them even to change date’s instead of refund as i stayed one day with my family and the weather was too bad and i want to enjoy first impression for Lucerne,they don’t even care about all the reply it’s your opinion sir

I asked for a 2 room connected and a room with king bef and other with twin bed and they replied by the reservation we will do sir,and once arrived they replied we don’t have !!!! Even the reception in ground floor must go up 1 floor no one is waiting to give a help for baggage

Sadly on arrival we overhead some reception staff mocking other guest asking extra linen, also head by another couple whom also believed this was inappropriate.

One male receptionist absolutely rude and made myself feel absolutely worthless, our room didn't look anything like what the internet showed, when we questioned it, it was stated "we are not the sheraton" our fridge was broken, needed to ask for a kettle

Unacceptable and despicable treatment for a self proclaimed 4 star hotel. My 80 year-old disabled mother and I arrived exhausted after traveling on a night train. Due to a temporary credit card authorization delay, the Front of House Manager, ADAM, held us hostage in a suffocatingly hot lobby for 3 full hours. Instead of showing basic human empathy, helping us find an alternative solution for a booking that was already fully prepaid, or letting a senior citizen rest, Adam was profoundly disrespectful, condescending, and aggressively interrogated me about our medical insurance.Only after I completely lost my patience, confronted him about his abusive behavior toward a disabled elderly tourist, and explicitly promised him a scathing online review, his attitude suddenly shifted. He backed down, accepted a lower deposit (proving his initial psychological pressure was completely arbitrary), and suddenly tried to play the 'friendly host'. He even attempted to bribe us out of a bad review by offering complimentary fruits in our room and a free drink at the rooftop bar once 'everyone was calmer.'An absolute joke. A free drink does not erase three hours of elder abuse and psychological harassment. Adam never offered a genuine, formal apology. The city of Lucerne is beautiful, but the management at Hotel Astoria lacks basic human decency. Avoid at all costs, especially if traveling with elderly or vulnerable family members.

Pros:

The breakfast was fantastic, but since I stayed for almost seven days, having the exact same options every morning became a bit repetitive. As a regular international traveler, I usually notice that hotels rotate two or three hot items daily to give guests some variety. It would be a great touch if the chef could implement a similar rotation here. Aside from this, everything else was superb. Thank you to the management!
