Basic but comfortable
Pros:

Checking in was quite easy, Jade at reception was friendly and helpful, good information about the premises. The room was basic but very comfortable. Great to have food and drinks right downstairs. The shower had excellent water pressure and temperature. Toilets were clean and free toiletries were provided. The location was good. Smash burger at the restaurant was pretty good..

Cons:

I ordered the beef rib at the restaurant and it was a big disappointment. I literally got one rib with a tiny bit of beef that'd been smoked for days it seemed, came with the poorest side of pickles I'd ever seen. Tasted ok but it's incredibly overpriced for what it is. Had to order a smash burger afterwards... Lighting in the room could be better and WiFi is non existent, make sure you have enough data on your phone.

Very comfortable beds, clean rooms and bathrooms, strong and hot showers.

Cons:

Some staff that were living upstairs had others staying with them who made a lot of noise when walking around and leaving the locked doors to outside the pub open.

Good food but the actual hotel wasn’t clean and updated
Pros:

The food was great for the price and good portions.

Cons:

The fact that we have to share bathroom’s weren’t the best. My bed sheets were dirty and definitely not changed from the person before. Unfortunate I went to bed really late so couldn’t complain to staff

Cons:

Dirty beds. Only went to bed at midnight and discovered hair, marks and dry tree leaves in beds. Obviously not fresh and clean. Who do we complain to that time of night?

I really enjoyed it and nice common room.

Pros:

This is an historic hotel in the village. It has been redecorated nicely and has fabulous character.
