A short stay in Devon on the way to Cornwall that we really enjoyed!
Pros:

Handy for the harbour and sea front but far enough away to be quiet

Cons:

Room was a bit small - but very clean and well maintained. Dining area lacked atmosphere

The room was modern & clean. Breakfast excellent.

Cons:

The room was rather small and very hot. We found it hard to sleep.
The car park is small and awkward, and doesn't cater for larger cars or trucks.

A very enjoyable stay in an extremely comfortable hotel, only spoilt by the £15 charge for the dog.
Pros:

It was extremely clean and very comfortable. Good location. Dog friendly.
We will only book a hotel where breakfast is included, which it was at the Carlton. It was a very good breakfast.

Cons:

There wasn’t enough parking which meant on occasions we had to park quite a distance away.
We didn’t realise there would be a £15 charge per night for the dog. We weren’t provided with a dog bed or feeding bowls or any treats. There was a sausage every morning, but we thought £15 per night was excessive.

Pros:

The breakfast and evening meal were superb and freshlY cooked. Room was lovely and clean and staff were really helpful to all our needs.. our dogs were treated the same too..definitely stay again

Great location, lovely rooms and very friendly and efficient people working there.
Pros:

Spacious clean and comfortable room. Really comfy bed / pillows. Parking on site. Great location. Very friendly, helpful and efficient staff at reception and in the breakfast room.

Cons:

The only thing that could be improved was the breakfast offering. They had run out of avocado and muffins taking a few things off the menu & the omelette had very little cheese & tomato filling and no seasoning.

A charming hotel in a great location.

Great hotelier equals lovely hotel stay
Pros:

The owner of this hotel ran hotels in London for years and then has owner-managed it for 12 years - he is absolutely superb. As a result, it’s an outstanding place to stay - they get all the little things right and that is so difficult to do.
