Lovely hotel in a great location

Lovely choice for breakfast and friendly staff. Excellent location and plenty of seating areas for relaxing

Cons:

First impression of their 'Finest room' that we booked and paid a lot for was very good. However, the quality wasn't what we expected for the amount that we paid. The rugs were fraying and the fabric headboard was dirty from previous occupants. There was what we believe a very noisy extractor unit near the bathroom window which ran from early morning until the kitchen closed. This was the last hotel that we stayed in on our 2 week tour of the West Country and it was disappointing compared to the others that cost less than half the price.

A beautiful old hotel with a professional and genuinely warm welcome.
Pros:

Friendly helpful staff.
Bedroom and ensuite immaculate.
Dogs welcomed.
Amazing location adjoining Dunster Castle grounds and in the heart of the village. Dog walks from the back of the garden.
Lots of different spaces to relax in.

Cons:

Dinner was not as good as we had hoped and quite expensive.
But handmade wood-fired pizzas in the bar on second night were delicious.

Lovely unique hotel
Pros:

Love this hotel, we gave stayed before, it is unique. It has its own personality, doesn't try to compete with other hotels, embraces it's history and throws in lovely modern touches. Secret garden is a gem. Food very good, excellent breakfast, pizza is a good addition to secret garden. Staff friendly and efficient.
