A wonderful week in a special place.
Pros:

Very friendly and helpful staff - managed to replace our mini-bar fridge the next day after it gave up in the heat. Fantastic setting in the heart of Dunster, with lots of options for hikes and sightseeing - Cleeve Abbey and Old Cleeve Church were great, as is the Castle, of course. Breakfast was good with lots of choice and service was quick and with a smile.

Cons:

A little more vegetarian food on the evening menu would be nice.

Lovely hotel and village, would recommend
Pros:

Beautiful location, very friendly and helpful staff, very nice evening meal, my husband had the roast and I had the pizza, both very good.

Cons:

A lot of dogs, I do get it’s a dog friendly hotel but I would like an area to eat where dogs are not allowed( not all owners are as good with keeping their dogs away from other people’s tables)

Pros:

Comfortable room - although a bit hot in this current heatwave. The fan provided helped though. The food (breakfast and dinner) was excellent. Location great. Service couldn't be faulted. Fabulous gardens. Charming building.

Cons:

The heat! But the weather is not typical ...

A lovely and unusual hotel. We would stay again
Pros:

Nearly everything, a quirky lovely hotel in a great location

Cons:

The only downside was the waitress for dinner whose response to every request - including change to an empty table, missing items that were on the menu was “no”. The food was generally excellent but had to send the truly awful cheese course back. No comment was made

Great location, good vibe in the bar and garden. Meal was good too.
Pros:

We had a meal the evening before, very tasty and staff really attentive, polite and helpful.
There was a nice vibe in the bar and outside, live music was a bonus.

Cons:

Quite expensive to stay here.
Night manager a bit grumpy when we woke him up at 2AM....

Pros:

Staff were very friendly and helpful
Outside garden was wonderful, lots of seating for quests.

Cons:

As we had a heat wave , we were only given a tiny fan that did nothing to cool us.
Maybe stock up on some fans.
