Absolutely amazing stay at Villa Romdoul as our base for 4 days exploring around Kampot & Kep. Firstly, the hosts Naret & Sarong are delightful. Naret speaks reasonable English and actually built the whole place himself. The rooms are enormous and very well furnished. The beds are extremely comfortable too. The on site restaurant/bar serves very reasonably priced and fantastic quality home cooked food. We rented scooters at $8 per day and they are literally brand new - by far the best we have had across SE Asia. Some reviewers have mentioned the road leading to the property. Yes it is unpaved but it’s very easily navigated. The way some western people describe the road would lead you to believe you’re in an Indiana Jones movie. Honestly it’s fine and not at all unusual for SE Asia. If you don’t rent a scooter you will need to get around by tuk tuk and even though the villa is a little way from town we never had any difficulty in securing one via Grab or Pass. Even if you did then Naret has local contacts he will call for you. There are three very friendly cats on site who don’t really bother you at all. It would help to be a dog lover however as the little puppy although cute is very excitable! That said if you are even remotely uncomfortable Naret will remove the dog straight away.
If you are looking for a base to explore this area that is high quality and competitively priced then we would absolutely recommend Villa Romdoul.

Everything is perfect for me. The room is very clean, large and has a fresh smell. The garden view is beautiful, and I would recommend staying here if you want to relax in a quiet place.

Exceptionnel, le logement était juste parfait, les meubles en bois sont sublimes, nous avons pu profiter des jardins en fin de journée. La route pour y accéder est un peu en mauvais état mais nous étions prévenus et c'est le prix à payer pour être dans cet havre de paix ! A chacun de nos retours, nous étions accueillis par les chiots et les chats 🥰

Un vrai cocon de calme, de verdure et de sourires, tenu par des hôtes d'une gentillesse exceptionnelle. Si vous cherchez un guesthouse authentique au Cambodge, loin du tourisme de masse, c'est ici.

🏡 Chambre spacieuse, impeccablement propre. Literie confortable, rien à redire.

🍽️ Les repas sont un régal : petit-déjeuner et dîners faits maison, avec des ingrédients majoritairement issus du jardin. Une cuisine simple, généreuse et savoureuse — bien meilleure que dans beaucoup de restaurants du coin.

🛵 Services pratiques sur place : location de scooters et vélos, service de lavanderie — le tout à des prix très honnêtes.

🚣 Les hôtes recommandent aussi des activités locales (cooking class, kayak) qu'on a testées et adorées.

📍 Accès via une route non goudronnée, mais tout à fait praticable en tuk-tuk (1,5 $ à 2 $ pour rejoindre le centre) ou en scooter. L'éloignement se justifie amplement : la sérénité du lieu n'a pas de prix.

Si vous aimez le calme, la nature et l'authenticité, ne cherchez plus. Nous y retournerons sans hésiter.

I had a wonderful stay here. The room was very clean and comfortable. The house has a beautiful garden and is surrounded by greenery, which makes it very peaceful. It’s 10 minutes (drive) outside Kampot city center, and you feel completely immersed in nature. The hosts are incredibly warm and friendly. The road to the hotel is a bit bumpy, but the surrounding scenery more than makes up for it. If you re looking to stay within walking distance of the Kampot center, it might be a bit far, though you can easily rent a scooter or use Grab. Bonus: you can have fruits from the garden for breakfast

Se amate la tranquillita' e non vi interessa essere un poco lontani dal centro e dalla movida questo e' il posto giusto. Il proprietario ha costruito questo b&b nella sua piantagione di mango e il risultato e' incredibile. Camere e strutture comuni in bellissimo stile coloniale, immerse in uno stupendo giardino con fiori e alberi da frutta ovunque. Potevamo raccogliere i mango direttamente dalla finestra della nostra camera. Tutto pulito e impeccabile, inclusa l'accoglienza e la possibilita' di interagire con il proprietario e la moglie, per avere una prospettiva locale sul paese e le sue tradizioni.
La colazione e la cena sono servite in uno stupendo padiglione e cucinate al momento dalla moglie del proprietario. Consiglio questo posto senza alcun dubbio per un soggiorno oltre le aspettative.

Das Zimmer war von der Ausstattung und den sanitären Installationen und den handwerklichen Arbeiten nicht zu übertreffen. Ganz großes Lob an den Eigentümer. Tolle neue Scooter direkt in der Unterkunft buchen, sind alle top.

The best accommodation we stayed at in Cambodia. The property is owned by the sweetest family. Our room was so beautiful. They provided complimentary bikes for guests to use. The food at their restaurant was delicious. We hope to stay there again in the future.

Out of all the places we stayed at in Cambodia Villa Romduol is the one I'm most likely to come back to, everything was just perfect ❤️ It's a bit further from the city but provides a motorcycle rental for a good price, the owners are super nice and helpful, and everything in the rooms is really great quality. And the whole place is just gorgeous!
