Couldn't fault the place; would truly highly recommend!
Pros:

Lovely traditional pub. Very attentive and friendly staff. LandLady/Owner is brilliant. Nothing too much trouble. Excellent home cooked food, and plenty of it (husband/co-owner) is Chef. Breakfast was extremely good with seconds/double up offered FOC

Cons:

Nothing. It is honestly a really lovely well run pub and motel.

Relaxing overnight dog-friendly stay in immaculately clean room (bigger than average)
Pros:

It was perfect to accommodate dogs. Great sized immaculate room. Pub meals (right next door) were really handy and tasty. Breakfast was excellent. Owner was very accommodating and super friendly. Everything was perfect- will definitely use again and such a convenient location for North Devon. An extremely positive experience- thank you!

Staff molto affabile e professionale, la camera non era ancora pronta così ci hanno offerto da bere.
Ottima colazione (abbiamo optato per classic english breakfast).
Camera molto spaziosa e moderna, letti comodi.
Ampio parcheggio e ottimo pub ristorante

Cons:

La nostra camera, l'ultima al piano terra, era davanti all'ingresso di servizio della cucina, quindi la finestra è di fatto inservibile.

What an AMAZING little gem in Devon. We enjoyed our two night stay and will be back - thank you Nicky and John
Pros:

The room was comfortable - very clean and inviting. Bathroom was clean and the overall rating from MANY places we have stayed is exceptional. The staff were helpful and owners were friendly and welcoming. And the carvery was one of the best roasts we’ve had ❤️

North Devon hospitality
Pros:

Everything you could possibly want in a breakfast all in the price even Farmers breakfast. Dinners were extra but all cooked fresh and tasted delicious 🍷🥰, The owners Nicky and John could not be more helpful and were determined they were going to roll me out the door 🥰. You will have to reserve your place at the carvery on a Sunday or you won't get in the car park which is quite big as well 😄. The location in Newton Tracey is well placed for any coastal resort along the A39, Clovelly is very nice 👏. Listening to only birdsong is very therapeutic for me👏.

Cons:

I had packed a bar of chocolate which melted by the time I got to the Lodge😢. I couldn't find a fridge so did my best with a large fan that was provided. The Thornton's and Hawkstone cider helped me to bide my time 🥰 I am sure Nicky would of put it in their freezer had I asked👍

Pros:

Lovely room great food did everything for my partners allergies as she has a lot. Really enjoyed our stay there,great hosts and the staff were friendly and helpful

Perfect stay
Pros:

Stayed here while down in Barnstaple for work
The room was lovely, comfortable, spotless amazing shower and quiet and peaceful
Ate in the pub for dinner the staff were incredible and the food was amazing
Breakfast was even better! Got to meet The owners gorgeous dog
Was an absolutely perfect stay and will certainly stay again when next down that way for work
