Gateway Place

There were people around knocking in the middle of the night. I didn’t feel safe because they’ve been knocking for over an hour and they should’ve known the password if they are renters of bnb. Booked in this area before but wasn’t feel safe last night. Also, the caretaker was hard to reach out because when I enter the house they said I should be in room number 4 but occupied already so I let myself found a room unoccupied so I can accommodate myself. I messaged and didn’t hear a message and waited for a long time, reported the incident but didn’t receive any response. Very upsetting.

I booked this for my partner and he stated that the other guests staying were doing drugs as soon as he came in. He felt uncomfortable leaving anything behind, and locked the room he had chosen and had the key with him and upon returning someone had somehow occupied his room and he had unfortunately left an item in the room and the person refused to acknowledge the item was ever in the room and the other guests had told him he could stay in the basement which he felt incredibly uncomfortable at that option, especially when a ROOM was booked. The people there began to question what he had in his bag because it was a high quality bag and was noticeably full of items. The overall atmosphere was not desirable and one of the gentlemen was clearly selling drugs, and the door code didnt work and it took 10 minutes to have anyone open the door. The gentleman was using a spoon and lighter for some sort of drug activity. There is no one on site to ensure that guests are acting accordingly. When he initially had the room and locked himself in it the other female guests began incessantly harassing him. He ended up feeling so uncomfortable during the time he spent which was maybe 2 hours max from when he arrived to when he went out for a walk and arrived back to the room being taken from him that he left and rented another place that was at least secure and not so unsafe and chaotic. He stated that there was definitely a lot of individuals that were not actually guests as there was MANY people when he arrived back the second time. There was zero privacy, and rooms were far from secure.

I didn't like it at all. It's a house that shouldn't be rented out. There's no peace and quiet. I don't know if the people who live there have drug problems, but they spent the whole night fighting, yelling, and slamming doors. We were on high alert all night when we just wanted the place to spend the night and rest. Then, around 2 a.m., someone else came to the door because they had rented the room, and they interrupted our rest. There was yelling and fighting all night long. We were woken up by their screams in the morning; they didn't stop yelling all night.

Everything showed up was not let in no answers or nothing waited over a hr while it stormed

There was never any contact with the owner. She never answered her phone, her mailbox was full so couldn't leave a message. Tried contacting through Booking.com and email, even drove to the property. NOTHING. Probably in Mexico on the beach.

I didn’t like the fact that they didn’t tell me my book booking was cancelled and even though I said I would pay on arrival they said that somebody else paid so they’re giving the booking to them and then I got to sleep on the street with my dog cause I had nowhere to stay while I was in Winnipeg and it rained so that was fabulous. The lady was not responsive at all and quite a jerk when I called
I’m sure it would’ve been a fabulous place if I had gotten to stay however I met a lot of people on the street that night and I gave them all pairs that I picked so that was wonderful

Our reservation was confirmed with the option to pay when we arrived at the property. When we called to let the owner know we were running about half an hour late, we were informed that the room was no longer available. Caused a huge disruption to our travel plans. Huge disappointment!

It was a scam, I didn’t got the room that I paid for. When I reached the house , there was a small bed in the unfurnished basement that the owner of the property never showed in the pictures when I paid for it. I tried calling the property owner but she ignored my calls and text and I have to leave the place mid of night because the place was hell out of the shit for someone to stay.

All was wonderful!
