Cons:

On arrival on the Saturday afternoon we let ourselves in, somebody had left the bedroom window open and the floor was like a lake as it had been raining all morning, contacted the owners who told us to try another room. (Keys are in key safes outside) Eventually got another room. Smoke alarms were triggered at 5.00 Sunday morning by a guest having a shower. We had to ring 999 as no staff were present on the premises. The guest that had triggered the alarms left while we were outside waiting for the fire brigade. It was 6.30 before we were allowed back in. The fire brigade tried contacting the owners but on first attempt they hung up, second attempt they left a voice mail to inform them that they had attended the property and everything was safe for us to return inside. I would have expected at least a courtesy call to make sure as paying guests we were ok but we never heard a thing. We were supposed to stay til Monday but left on Sunday morning. I did contact the owners to let them know but have yet to receive a reply.
For anybody booking thinking that the Red lion next door is open, it isn't it closed in July. Definitely will not be returning or recommending

Lovely location, room clean and basic but needs a bit more attention.
Pros:

Harlech was lovely. Room was basic but clean. Ok for one or two nights but no more.

Cons:

Mattress was awful, could feel the springs. Broken toilet seat and not enough toilet paper provided. No toiletries except hand wash. Was given the wrong code twice to get in which was a bit frustrating after a long drive. Took owner a few calls before they answered.

Disappointed
Pros:

Very good shower

Cons:

No ceiling lights working, you couldn't watch the TV from the bed because of the positioning of it. No batteries in the remote so we bought some and the tv didn't work !!!. I sent 2 messages to the property owners with no reply to either. Maybe needs a couple of chairs to be able to watch TV when it works.

Beds were comfy and room was clean on arrival, but don’t expect it to feel like a guesthouse.
Pros:

Great location for day-tripping to NorthWest Wales, the Llyn Peninsula and Eryri National Park. Room was clean on arrival and beds were comfy. Very friendly locals, good options for eating within walking g distance.

Cons:

Parking is very challenging. The property is on a very steep hill with no parking onsite, and limited availability of free roadside parking with restricted hours. The property had no seating facilities in the rooms or communal space. The pub shown in the photos is closed down, and we were not made aware of this before arrival. We stayed 3 nights and there was only half a loo roll provided and initial tea/coffee for the first night. Felt more like self-catering but without the ability to lounge or cater.

Room was comfortable, but there were a few issues.
Pros:

The room was very comfortable and the location in Harlech is very nice with a warm and welcoming feeling. Castle Harlech being very close by is nice as well.

Cons:

Unfortunately during our stay there was no WiFi. Also very little toilet roll, we had to buy our own. Finally the bar is closed, but there is a pub less than a minute walk away, so that resolves that.

Clean comfortable property in a good location and good value for money
Pros:

Great location in the heart of Harlech.
Good sized room, comfortable bed plus clean bathroom with a decent shower

Cons:

Shame the pub is closed as it makes the property look very unappealing from the outside.
Not sure how thick the walls are between the rooms but we could hear the occupants of the next room every time they moved around in their room. Very creaky floor.

Had to chase the owner for the key safe code and room number literally 15 minutes before we arrived at the property as they are not on site to check you in

Pros:

Nice location and clean upon arrival

Cons:

Unfortunately our room wasnt tended too during the 4 nights we stayed so our bins were overflowing, no towles changed ect, the description of the hotel leads you to believe that there is private beach access which is complete fabrication, we only met one lady when we arrived who wasnt particularly welcoming and seemed a bit irritated by our arrival, we didnt see another soul during our stay, so nobody about to ask for clean towels or more tea and coffee condiments ect

Appalling, lack of response to messages dreadful.
Pros:

Sent owner message via booking com and received
no response. Phoned them 3 times they never picked up and did not reply to messages I left. If I had an emergency I had no way of reaching them. One of my issues was could shut tiny window in room and rain and wind were blowing in, they came in while I was out and shut window.
I requested Wifi code but they did not let me have that. Room and bed felt damp despite warm weather. Pub has closed down, I feel we should have been notified in advance of this. Keys were left inside main door, which was unlocked, major security issue!. Only info was "please shut bathroom door when u have a shower".
Light switch in bedroom only worked after you twiddled it about for few minutes, needs replaced.
Tiny window made it feel like a cell not a guest room.
Only positive was clean and newly decorated but this did not make up for other issues.

Cons:

Room on first floor, one set of stairs, if there was a fire downstairs no escape because no one could not get out of window.

Disappointing.
Pros:

Nice Location near Harlech Castle. Free Wi-Fi. TV in room.

Cons:

No car park, no staff to see or talk to. The Pub was closed and the property appeared to be winding down.

Unhappy at Harlech House
Pros:

Great location
Comfy bed
Nice towels

Cons:

Presented as a hotel and vibrant pub.Not informed pub had closed either by Booking.com or owners
Internet didn't work. Two calls to owners informed " this sometimes happens".
There 3 days no servicing of room and only one toilet roll provided.
Broken window.
This place comfortable for an overnight stop but not for a longer stay.
Noone there at any time.
I am not in the habit of writing poor reviews and was delighted with the Shepherds Hut we stayed in a few days prior to this but as things stand I would not recommend Harlech House
