Pros:

Had a really pleasant stay at Hotel Vistara. The room was beautiful, clean, and well-maintained. Although the space was a little cozy, it was comfortable and had everything needed for a pleasant stay.
The management and service were amazing, and the overall atmosphere was warm and welcoming. A special mention to the chef—the food was absolutely amazing and beautifully prepared. Every meal was a great experience. 👨‍🍳🍽️
One of the biggest highlights is the rooftop restaurant, offering a stunning 360-degree panoramic view of Kathmandu, the surrounding mountains, and Swayambhunath Stupa. The view is especially beautiful during sunrise and sunset. 🌄
The location is another big advantage. It’s only around 5–8 minutes’ walk from the heart of Thamel, making it very convenient for exploring the area while still enjoying a peaceful atmosphere.
Overall, Hotel Vistara is a great place to stay, with excellent management, friendly service, delicious food, a beautiful rooftop, stunning mountain views, and a convenient location.

Good place to stay in Kathmandu
Pros:

We were a group of nine staying at the Vistara before and after our trek. It was a good place to stay: clean, good breakfast, good restaurant as an option for dinner, helpful staff, good location (towards the periphery of Thamel but still only a short walk to other parts of Thamel). I'd be very happy to stay there again.

Cons:

I have no complaints about Vistara.

Das Hotel hat in Kombination mit booking.com meine Kreditkarte doppelt belastet. Dies ist bis heute nicht aufgeklärt. Schlechte Kommunikation mit dem Hotel dahingehend.

Friendly staff and great location in Thamel
Pros:

Great location just outside the really busy part of Thamel but only by a block so it’s easy to walk. Staff were super friendly and helpful and the rooms were really comfortable, clean and the shower was great!

Cons:

Not much. The shower heat was off one night when they had to fix the heat pump, but that kind of thing happens everywhere.

We really enjoyed our stay here. The location is excellent—very central, yet situated on a small side street, which makes it peaceful and quiet at night, perfect for a good sleep.

All of the hotel staff were extremely kind, polite, and attentive. It was a real pleasure communicating with them. We were also allowed to check in early, which we truly appreciated.

Our room was wonderful, with a small balcony and a huge, very comfortable bed. One thing that was especially important to me was how exceptionally clean everything was.

Breakfast starts at 7:00 AM and offers a good variety of options: stewed vegetables, omelets, sausages, bread, butter, jam, and fruit. I was also served an excellent latte. One of the staff members recommended the breakfast area restaurant for lunch and dinner as well—and we ended up eating there twice because we liked it so much.

Many thanks to the hotel for such a wonderful stay. I would genuinely recommend this place to anyone choosing accommodation in Kathmandu. When we first arrived in the city, we stayed at another hotel that was actually more expensive, but this one was far better in every way.

One of the best stays I had, it was really good, staff was nice and helpful, breakfast was exceptional.

Cons:

There should be a parking spot for 4 wheelers because kathmandu being very crowded, it's difficult to get a parking spot without hassle.
