Great location. Wouldn’t stay again, not up to our expectations
Pros:

Location

Cons:

We booked a deluxe bedroom. Didn’t live up to that. Lighting was not working correctly, not cleaned daily & no clean towels provided. Moved to basic double, was better

hotel ok if you are a clubber but not for a weekend stay as too much noise
Pros:

central to town

Cons:

the room and bathroom was a good size it needed up dating as no double glazing window, could heard the noise outside until 4.30am , so terrible night sleep . had to climb 5 flights of stairs to room no good when you are in your 70s . Would not stay here again.

Ask if you can actually open the window in your room
Pros:

Basic but comprehensively furnished. The shower was very efficient - and, boy, did I need it! See below..

Cons:

In principle this hotel deserves three or even four stars - but two is perhaps too generous. It was impossible to open the sash window in my room (no. 2) and with the direct sun all day during one the recent heatwaves, the evening and night felt like sleeping in a sauna - even with two fans whirling round the stale hot air. If this is the result of a bad paint job, fusing the moving parts, when was the last time some fresh air entered that room?
If they give you this room, check the window situation has been repaired, otherwise you are in for a sweaty night.

Nice old hotel, great staff, very friendly. Didn’t realise that they no longer do food.
Pros:

Location good.

Cons:

Didn’t realise there was no food, so no breakfast, nor that check in was only 16:00-18:00 with late check in fees beyond that.

Good value but not a palace
Pros:

Great location in the middle of town, but because of that was a bit noisey late at night

Cons:

The bar of the hotel was incredibly noisey, full of people who had drunk too much and lots of shouting and swearing so we 1 drink there and moved on.

Pros:

Central. Clean, comfortable room. Pleasant staff.

Cons:

Noisy, due to it being the weekend, with entertainment on. Breakfast not offered.

Worst Ever
Pros:

Nothing

Cons:

Bed, absolutely the worst. Checked out a day early and drove home overnight, rather than spend another night there.

Good value for decent town centre room with a lively pub below across from 2 other lively pubs
Pros:

The hotel is right in the middle of the town and is also a pub. I stayed on a Saturday night and karaoke continued until about 2:00am. My room was at the top and I couldn't hear any noise at all. Bed was pretty comfortable and the bathroom quite nice

Cons:

Breakfast was not available despite the indication on Booking.com
