Please note that there are several flights of stone steps to access the house from the street and 2 flights of stairs to access the rooms from the hall. Also, the walk to and from town is via a steep slope. Highgate House may therefore not be suitable for guests with mobility difficulties.Please inform of your expected arrival time in advance. Luxurious, relaxing and fun stay
Pros:

Everything was excellent, luxurious room, with comfortable bed. Superb hosts with good local knowledge. Breakfast in Pyjamas was a first but was really good quality food and plenty of it.

Cons:

Parking was a bit of an issue, but this is a Whitby problem rather than an issue for Highgate.

A touch of class!
Pros:

A large Georgian house with lots of history. The room was very spacious and beautifully decorated with lots of attention to detail. We were served a delicious breakfast to our room each morning. The owner, Jonathan, gave us a warm welcome and was available if we needed anything during our stay. It was refreshing to stay somewhere that was so unique and where the service was wonderful. The location was excellent, seconds away from shops, restaurants and a very short stroll to the harbour. Would definitely recommend!

Nothing, it was a wonderful stay.

Perfect Whitby accommodation
Pros:

The house is absolutely stunning. A gorgeous period property. We were made to feel very welcome by Jonathan & Louise. The bedrooms are elegant and immaculate and the breakfast is generous and very tasty. Situated just at the top of the main shopping streets makes it a perfect location for exploring Whitby. We will be back 😊

Pros:

The house and garden was beautiful. We stayed in the summer room and it had everything you could need. Everything was clean and decorated to a very high standard. The location was fantastic, with a few independent bars veru close.

Le lieu est magnifique, les hôtes sont extrêmement agréables et professionnels. Nous avons passé un merveilleux séjours, avec un petit déjeuner servi tous les matins dans la chambre, au saut du lit. La literie était parfaite, et le cadre merveilleux.

Excellent, just need the one word
Pros:

Beautifully decorated room, comfy bed, large bathroom, overall a great experience. Fanastic breakfast brought to your room, was able to relax and enjoy our weekend away. Nothing was too much trouble we would highly recommend, 5 stars!

Friendly welcome from Jonathan and Louise, nothing too much trouble.
Pros:

Excellent room, with high quality top end decor beautiful garden and perfect location. Parking voucher for easy parking, paid for by host.
