Please note that there are several flights of stone steps to access the house from the street and 2 flights of stairs to access the rooms from the hall. Also, the walk to and from town is via a steep slope. Highgate House may therefore not be suitable for guests with mobility difficulties.Please inform of your expected arrival time in advance. A touch of class!
Pros:

A large Georgian house with lots of history. The room was very spacious and beautifully decorated with lots of attention to detail. We were served a delicious breakfast to our room each morning. The owner, Jonathan, gave us a warm welcome and was available if we needed anything during our stay. It was refreshing to stay somewhere that was so unique and where the service was wonderful. The location was excellent, seconds away from shops, restaurants and a very short stroll to the harbour. Would definitely recommend!

Perfect Whitby accommodation
Pros:

The house is absolutely stunning. A gorgeous period property. We were made to feel very welcome by Jonathan & Louise. The bedrooms are elegant and immaculate and the breakfast is generous and very tasty. Situated just at the top of the main shopping streets makes it a perfect location for exploring Whitby. We will be back 😊

Pros:

The house and garden was beautiful. We stayed in the summer room and it had everything you could need. Everything was clean and decorated to a very high standard. The location was fantastic, with a few independent bars veru close.

Excellent, just need the one word
Pros:

Beautifully decorated room, comfy bed, large bathroom, overall a great experience. Fanastic breakfast brought to your room, was able to relax and enjoy our weekend away. Nothing was too much trouble we would highly recommend, 5 stars!

Pros:

Excellent room, with high quality top end decor beautiful garden and perfect location. Parking voucher for easy parking, paid for by host.

Pros:

Stylish, comfortable accommodation. Well placed to access everything Whitby has to offer. Welcoming and attentive service from the Owners
Peaceful and scrupulously clean.

Cons:

On site parking would be nice, but appreciate that this is an issue at a lot of places in Whitby centre. We parked in the pay and display car park at the rear of the property during our stay. £11 per 24 hour period.

The perfect place for a relaxing and restful stay in Whitby
Pros:

Highgate House is a historic house lovingly decorated with beautiful interiors throughout. It is in a great location just a few minutes’ walk from the station, town centre and sea front (we didn’t have a car). The hosts are friendly and welcoming providing breakfast on a tray including a bacon roll, fresh fruit salad, toast and pastries. We found the house to be very peaceful as despite all 4 of the large guest bedrooms being occupied we didn’t hear the other guests at all. We plan to stay again.
