It has a nice feel and food was good.
Evening dining was rather pricey…
Beautiful location overlooking the bay
The meals were all first class 😋
Staff were both friendly and helpful
I wasn't aware until I got there, that the kitchen was closed on Monday's and Tuesdays.
No cooked breakfast those mornings but more importantly. No lunchtime or evening meals available. Also the evening bar was closed.
All other days were perfect.
The property down stairs was lovely
Up stairs out on the terrace the furniture was old the table had a hole in it and it all looked very tired
Easy motorway access
That it was close to the motorway and therefore noisy
Prestations irréprochables et très bon rapport qualité prix
Location - stunning views from the terrace
Sadly too many stairs to the bedroom
We were informed way in advance to my stay
The highlight of our trip was swimming at a wonderful cove, Maidencombe beach, which is a steep 20 minute walk down (and back up!) from the hotel. It also has a fabulous cafe which serves delicious breakfasts and lunches
A gem in the country side
The homely feeling of family run manor hotel
Beautiful quiet location to explore the Devon coast
Everything was lovely
Continental breakfast on tuesday was v. Good. The staff were nice. The terrace was lovely. Parking was easy. The lounge was pleasant. The hotel decor was well-maintained.
Be aware that rooms described as second floor rooms are in fact attic rooms, one with a flat roof, one with a skylight. Our stay was during a heatwave.
The staff were exceptionally welcoming and accommodating. We were let down by an Air BnB host on the day of our travel, and so this was a last minute booking - and worked out in our favour. We were upgraded room wise and it was absolutely beautiful, spacious and clean. The sea views from our room and the restaurant are wonderful. The food is absolutely fantastic here too! We had a fantastic time and would definitely return. Highly recommend!
