Its the setting that makes it fantastic.
Pros:

Cant fault the location,Theodore House is in what was once the grain store of Stonyhurst, which is amazing.
Its a continental breakfast but you can have cooked items as well.

Cons:

For anyone who may read this,it is a retreat so the rooms are basic but provide everything you need.

Comfortable and pleasant
Pros:

The location was excellent and the staff were warm and welcoming. The accommodation was clean, neat and functional.

Cons:

Our room (9) contained a cupboard that housed the system for driving the air conditioning fans that face into the atrium/landing area on the first floor. These fans were in operation 24/7 and meant that the system was operating throughout the night. Unfortunately I slept very poorly for the 2 nights that we stayed and my husband resorted to sleeping with his phone earbuds in. Other than that, our stay was fine and I would consider staying again if I could stipulate that the room needs to be quiet and free of machinery.

Excellent facilities and location for a group booking.
Pros:

Even before arriving, we were made to feel welcome by being provided with information on who to contact should there be no one at the desk but we were greeted by the lovely Fran who looked after us at every stage of our stay which was amazing!

Cons:

That we had to go home!

I had a lovely time at Theodore House, privileged to stay in the heart of God's own county.
Pros:

Lovely people managing the House, Could not have been friendlier or more accommodating. Clean and simple en suite accommodation, close to a famous College with a profound historical legacy, deep in the heart of rural Lancashire. Beautiful countryside to walk/drive through, so peaceful and calming. Lot of historical places to visit, Stydd Chapel, Whalley Abbey and majestic Mitton Hall. I was very lucky with the weather, sunny with a bit of breeze. Plenty of free parking at the House and places to sit and just be still in the grounds. A very welcoming atmosphere. Will be back!

Cons:

While this was not at all the fault of the House management, it was necessary to travel for meals other than breakfast, which meant that visitors would need transport. I had a lovely lamb dinner at the Aspinall Arms in Mitton, several miles away, and another very nice ploughman's lunch at the Stydd Gardens restaurant, just north of Ribchester. There is also Mitton Hall, which caters for non residential dining, with a glass on the patio perhaps, overlooking the Ribble. I have a car, though.
