A memorable one
Pros:

I booked the hotel for my husbands birthday and i requested from the staff to do a small decoration in the room. Decoration was done superbly with limited requirements. All the staff were very friendly and very helpful .special Thanks to Operation Manager Mr Indika and House keeper Mr Akalanka for making our trip so valuble.
Food and the service were very excellent .
We will recommend this hotel to any one.

Breakfast was good and the variety was ok. Beds were comfortable.

Disappointing service and poor organization

Unfortunately, the service at this hotel fell well short of expectations, and there was a clear lack of effective customer service.

Housekeeping and room setup: When we arrived, the room did not have towels ready. I had to call to request them, and when they still didn’t arrive, I had to go to the front desk and remind staff several times.

Dental kit: Before booking, I called to ask whether they provide all the essentials. I was told that dental kits are available only on request for hygiene reasons, so I asked them to keep one ready for me. It wasn’t ready on arrival, and I had to follow up repeatedly to get it.

Ironing facility: The shared ironing area was so dirty that I didn’t feel comfortable placing my clothes on it. The iron itself was a dry iron of poor quality and barely removed any creases.

Triple room supplies: We had booked a triple room, yet were given only 2 tea cups instead of 3. This may seem minor, but it shows a lack of attention to detail when a room is meant for three guests.

Water bottles: For our two-night stay, we were entitled to 6 water bottles but received only 3. When we requested 2 more at night, we were charged for them.

Misleading information: When I called before arriving to ask about the property, staff did not mention that they have another hotel just a short distance away. They only referred to their property in Tissa.

Recommendation: These may be small issues individually, but together they point to a lack of organization and care for guests. I would suggest trying their other property, which is about 200 metres away.

Cons:

The hotel where we stayed in Kataragama was really good! ❤️ It’s a peaceful, calm, and relaxing place, perfect for spending some quality time away from the busy city life. The surroundings were lovely, the atmosphere was pleasant, and it was a great place to relax and unwind. We really enjoyed our stay and would definitely recommend this place to anyone visiting Kataragama! 🌿✨

Reasonable in rural Sri Lanka but questionable whether it is worth for amount we paid for?
Pros:

Convenient and basic facilities are ok

Cons:

Included breakfast was not very good.
They didn’t replace toilet papers unless specifically requested.
We needed to call them for bathroom towels.

L'hôtel à réserver pour votre séjour à Yala/Kataragama
Pros:

Mon mari et mes enfants se sont rendus à Kataragama avec mes parents et ont choisi l'hôtel Lavendish comme point de depart pour visiter le parc de Yala et assister au Kataragama Perahara. Les enfants ont adoré leur séjour, les chambres et la cuisine.

Dinner and breakfast were tasty (especially the chicken fried rice!!) Staff were really friendly and helpful. Didn't get to use the pool but it looked fab.
