Everything. Legit, it's a wonderful place to stay.
This isn't a "didn't like", but renting out bicycles to guests so they can cycle to the park rather than walking if they don't have / don't want to use a car would be very helpful.
The lodge itself is amazing. Beautiful inside, outside and very cozy at the same time. I stayed on the top room, with glass all around, could watch the sunrise from my own bed. Priceless!
Nothing to say to be honest
Cotopaxi lodge is an amazing place to spend some days out of town, to disconnect. super calm and chill. With the national park just 4 kms away. Which means you have access to so many beautiful places around as the Cotopaxi volcano, Rumiñahui, Sincholahua and some waterfalls.
The room I stayed was spacious, the living room has a chimney which is lighted everyday. The food is delicious. And the staff are always checking if you need something.
They also have 2 lovely llamas.
Property is newer. Property is clean. Property looks like the pictures.
The road to the property from main road is very rough and the approach to the property also a little rough.
The issues started after I arrived home. I received a message from the owner asking for payment for the stay and an unpaid lunch.
My companion thought she paid in the morning for the lunches before we left. When I returned home, I was surprised to be informed that 1 lunch out of 2 in fact had not been paid.
Why would the staff only charge for one lunch when we are both in the same room?
I was never once asked to pay at the property for my stay and the lunch. During the conversation, the owner “reminded” me I did not pay when in fact he never asked for any type of payment or present a bill until after we checked out and left the premises.
The bill and payment link from the owner sent to me after I left was for a tour company for a tour that we never used or ever heard of to pay for the night stay with no indication of what the payment was for or what I am paying - only a total.
I never disputed the charge for the night stay only that proper documentation is given to make sure other surprises don’t pop up. It took three attempts for a satisfactory itemized bill and even then I had to make a concession.
This is the first time I have left a hotel/lodging and the bill not have been settled.
