Fortuna Retreat

We LOVED this location because it felt quaint and cozy, while being immersed in wildlife. The gardens were well maintained, beautiful, and immersed you in wildlife. We had a private patio with pool which we enjoyed with our 11-month old baby girl. The drive to the breakfast spot at arenal oasis took 1 minute and the walk to the restaurant allowed us to see and hear such amazing wildlife. Our room and facilities were so clean. We were very close to coffee/cacao tours, thermal springs, fortuna waterfall, nature tours, and of course the arenal volcano.

Eine schöne neue Unterkunft mit Blick auf den Vulkan. Wir haben tolle Restauranttipps bekommen. Zu Fuß konnten wir zu einer Kaffee und Kakao Tour gehen.

Great location, very friendly staff, beautiful view and exceptionally clean. We also very much enjoyed the breakfast place - a nice opportunity to spend time in the jungle and enjoy the wildlife

Wir schätzten besonders die ruhige Lage etwas ausserhalb des Zentrums. Das Zimmer auf der ersten Etage war gross und hatte einen fantastischen Blick auf den Vulkan. Das Bett war etwas unbequem, was sich leicht gebessert hat, nachdem die Matratze nach der ersten Nacht auf unseren Wunsch umgedreht wurde. Alfonso am Empfang war sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit. Das Frühstück und den Pool hatten wir nicht genutzt.

Amazing place - highly recommend

Everything about this stay exceeded our expectations - I can’t speak highly enough of it! It was truly stunning and we had such a fantastic time! The staff, especially Alfonso who was super lovely and helpful, were extremely polite, friendly, and gave us the best tips for our stay. The view from the room was stunning and the noises from the rainforest were out of this world. The location was brilliant, close to Fortuna waterfalls, the hot springs and only a short journey to the hanging bridges. The pool was beautiful and we were surrounded by beautiful foliage, butterflies and birds - including hummingbirds! Soda Tita Rosa was just down the road for lunch and dinners which was so convenient and delicious. The breakfast was a 2 minute walk away and was in a breathtaking location surrounded by rainforest - plus the food was delicious every time and the staff were delightful. Era precioso, super limpio, las camas comodisimas y el hotel muy lindo.

Gorgeous grounds! Amazing view of the volcano! It was off the main road, so much quieter, but within walking distance of everything. Joel was amazing! He gave us great tips and helped with reservations and tours.

A beautiful room and lovely staff is what makes this a great place to stay.
Just beware that breakfast is not on site and is down a busy road.. not ideal if you are going on early morning trips. When you get there it’s very average.
Even though Fortuna Retreat is outside town and requires Ubers to get anywhere, it is quite noisy from 5 am. Dogs barking, grass cutting, construction work etc.
