…at the same time we were rather disappointed with Tulum, overhyped and crazily overpriced

There happened to be a wedding during my stay which they said wouldn't interfere with other guests stays besides the restaurant being reserved one evening from 5-10pm.

But the event was very loud and went on until midnight. They didn't think to reserve any waitstaff for guests - the wedding party should have paid for their extra staff so hotel guests could still get drinks at the pool etc.

Not the biggest deal but definitely an oversight considering it's hospitality business.

The only food or drinks options were at the rooftop bar with a limited menu.

The room had a "mini bar" which was nothing more than a little table with 2 room temperature bottles of water that weren't free and like a travel bag for sale. No snacks, no other drinks, no refrigerator- It was like, what's was the point?

The bath room is always wet due to the shower not being enclosed. Not enought towels provided to sort this out. Room was alot smaller than anticipated. Most disgusting was the sink did not have a P-trap. This allowed the sewage smell to enter the room and not a pleasant smell to come back too. I requested that they fix it and they said they will look at it but did not do anything about it. The room continuously smelled of raw sewage.

In general the tipping culture in Mexico is getting out of hand. Unfortunately this is the same case for the hotel staff who expected tipping every time you ordered something (breakfast/beach drinks/ lunch/ dinner). Another point specific to our case was that during our stay there was a wedding talking place at the property which made some of the facilities unavailable for us for a few hours. (not great for value of the money spent)

De bedden! Echt veel te hard. Te laat gevraagd om een topper dus dat was onze eigen schuld maar laatste nacht hebben ze iets geprobeerd met een te klein dekbed oid waardoor we helaas nog slechter sliepen.

Small rooms, nowhere to put your stuff.

Ohh, I wish I would not need to write anything here but unfortunately I do. First, I booked a room with the attic where there is a small private pool. Room is nice, as on pictures, but it has flaws: it’s small, no space for luggage storage, no hairdryer, if you are 2 people with 2 bags, it’s already very uncomfortable. The outside areas are spacious but you can’t use them if it rains, as on the top there’s no proper roofing and it’s just wet all the time and on the bottom the roof has holes and leaks water too so you can’t even stay outside at all. And the worst was that they gave me the room that was on the very left and this room didn’t have a left wall on the terrace like other rooms to the right side resulting in you being fully exposed to people passing by the floor to watch you . I had very unpleasant experience when I didn’t realize that it is like this, went out of the shower and looked outside my room naked and then saw a guest man who had been watching me all this time. Needless to say it freaked me out and I reported it. Obviously, they can’t build the wall , just be aware of it if you don’t want it, avoid room 34. Front desk tried to help me though and offered to move me on the next day but I decided to stay as I was there just for few nights and didn’t have energy for this move. If I come back, I ll book ocean front room and recommend to do it to all.

Another thing that made me uneasy they reached out to me the day before my arrival saying that they upgraded me to ocean front as they had overbooking situation which of course made me happy and looked like a gift but on arrival they just brought me to the room I booked and said that they decided to not upgrade me, like casually.

Dommage qu’il manquait de rangements et d’équipements dans la chambre (tv, bouilloire etc.)

Rooms have no tv or coffee maker. They sell the loungers for their beach club so there are never enough loungers on the beach. The food and drinks are very expensive. A glass of wine is $20 US.

Not much. Bathrooms could use some more hooks. Restaurant prices sometimes felt a bit high, but the quality was so good it was hard to complain.

L’évacuation de la douche, l’eau se propageait dans la salle de bain.
La piscine dans la chambre, pas couverte donc sale, il fallait demander à ce qu’elle soit remplie si on souhaitait se baigner
