Staff were friendly, free parking onsite and it was clean.
The room was hot so we had to have the windows wide open and left the curtains open a little bit to get the breeze through. However, our room was by reception which was noisy when people wanted letting in and a light came on every time there was movement so we didn’t sleep well at all.
The property was in a very nice setting.
The furnishings in the room were very good, storage, bed and shower. All the employees we encountered were very nice and helpful.
It was quite warm in the room, even with the fan and the windows open (and we weren’t there when it was in the mid 20s+).
The shower splatters water everywhere, so floor towel gets soaked. Hard to get and keep feet dry as the bathroom is not very large.
We really could have used a frig in the room for a 5 night stay (husband had a course in Buckfastleigh, and no lunch was provided). Had to borrow and bring a loud electric cool box. Maybe you can have a few and wheel them into a room when needed.
Very clean, very friendly staff, comfortable beds and good food
It was clean and of a high standard. The staff were so friendly and helpful.
Nothing
Location was perfectly quiet,ample parking

Everything in this hotel is perfect. Rooms, beds, parking, place, staff. It is really a peacefull place.
Location - location - impressive Cathedral and history - one man ‘start up’ !
…….?
We liked our room and bathroom facilities.
Breakfast was mediocre.

Lovely hotel in great location
Nothing
The evening meals were great & superbly cooked. The bar staff were mostly friendly & helpful, Reception staff were friendly & helpful too. The cooked English breakfast was excellent. The room was spacious with plenty of cupboards and drawers & a fan available too
The continental Breakfast good have been good but was never replenished enough so by 8.45am most of the pastries were gone and when we requested 2 big plates we were told there weren't any available. Therefore you were backwards & forwards with a side plate to get cold meats etc. The bar is open until 10pm but when i requested a coffee at 9.30 I was told not possible as coffee machine was turned off!
That overall the atmosphere and staff were wonderful, the restaurant (San Benedetto) was absolutely delicious we highly recommend "The Monks Kitchen Pizza", the "Fish and Chips" and " The Arancini".
We like everything so nothing needed improving.
Lovely grounds and setting.
An irregular repetitive clunk could be heard throughout the stay.
Nice location for what we were doing during the weekend
Very good mattress and spacious room
Breakfast was supposed to be included but the cooked breakfast had an extra charge and the choice of the continental was limited
Bathroom is more a wet room, the shower in front of the toilet, therefore when showering the whole bathroom and toilet are flooded
Breakfast was fine but restaurant menu for dinner rather limiting for us.
The restaurant has greatly improved but choices rather limited especially if you don't like pizza.
