Quality relaxation at the Lamartine Hotel
Pros:

I stayed two nights at this hotel during a stopover in Istanbul. I was checked into a free room at 9 a.m., which was a real relief after a sleepless night. The only thing was, they upgraded me to a standard room, not the studio I'd booked, but I didn't realize it due to lack of sleep. I went straight down to reception and asked if I could change to the room I'd chosen. They told me the room wasn't ready, but they offered to let me stay in my current room until 1 p.m. and then move me. Honestly, this was a very appreciated gesture from the hotel, as I was completely exhausted after an overnight flight.
The standard rooms, although larger, are a bit dated, but they are clearly kept clean and tidy. I'd also like to point out that the towels and bed linens are clearly new (it's often the case that fabrics in hotels are visibly worn, but here everything was clearly new). The studio is in a different building (the two are connected) and has a very different design (more modern), but is smaller. I was staying alone, so the fact that the shower door also connected to the toilet wasn't an issue, but sharing a room with someone else might be uncomfortable, as the seal is only at the bottom of the glass door (approximately 1.20 meters from the floor). The rooms were very clean, and there were no issues with housekeeping.
Breakfast was generally pretty standard. There were no omelets or fried eggs made to order (or I think they were an extra charge), but they generally offered a standard omelet, böreki, vegetables, and fruit, so that was enough for me.
A huge plus for the hotel is its location: Taksim Square is a leisurely 2-minute walk away. Macka Park is a 10-15-minute walk away. From there, it's generally easy to walk to Beşiktaş and Dolmabahçe, and along the promenade to Galata Port. Plus, there are always plenty of dining options near the hotel in the evening. Next time, I'll probably stay at this hotel.

Cons:

It would be better to completely tint the door to the toilet and the bathroom rather than half-tint it, and do the same for the partition between the toilet and the bathroom.

Ich war schon einmal in diesem Hotel und werde wieder kommen, die Lage ist unschlagbar.
