Very disappointing. Expected our accommodation choice to elevate our stay in Durham, but it didn't.
Pros:

The bed was ok

Cons:

Very sparse, cheap decor in the bedroom. The cushions were too small for the cushion covers, the toilet leaked with each flush and ran onto the floor. The boxing around the toilet was very badly stained and the toilet brush holder was all rusty. The shower hose was way too short and the bath took ages to drain (presume blocked). The light over the bathroom sink didn't work. No staff were available on arrival, so had to wait. No lemon on the premises for a gin and tonic.

Felt cheated
Pros:

Comfy bed. Great location for not too far out of the centre and not noisy

Cons:

Hidden charge for dog staying on arrival. No mention of that when I booked so felt ripped off at having this charge announced on arrival when I had said in advance we were bringing a dog. Also bathroom tiles were mouldy so not inclined to have a shower. It was a lot of money for Room Only. I'd read the great reviews and was looking forward to staying.

Lovely room in quiet location
Pros:

Hearty breakfast. Location about 1 mile from centre but up a quite step hill. Quiet location. Good free entertainment on Friday night.

Quirky pub/restaurant/rooms
Pros:

It was so interesting inside, lovely and quirky, great outdoor area, spacious room, we stayed in 1, food and staff amazing, it took us a steady 10 min walk to town, it is not steep as reported, would definitely stay here again

We arrived Saturday and the place was in full swing re noisy groups of drinkers. It calmed down .
Pros:

I liked being able to have free parking on site - the car park is small but I arrived early so all good.

Cons:

I think when we arrived at midday there could have been an offer to check if the room was available then to leave out stuff in.

Execellent food and location would stay again
Pros:

Sunday lunch was lovely would return for food again! Room was clean bed was comfy bathroom was to an okay standard, overall gorgeous little place beautiful food and an ideal location few minutes from city centre.

Cons:

Few aesthetic problems bath in the bathroom could to with a bit of TLC ie re- grouting and a good bleach round the sides carpet was slightly stained
