Echter was het wel jammer dat je niet echt vrije keus had voor het eten, vanwege het weekmenu. Het was vaak vis, niet iedereen lust graag vis. Ook vond ik de wijn nogal prijzig en de drankjes. Tot slot was er ook geen mini koelkast in de kamers. Eigenlijk wordt je dan verplicht iets te kopen uit de koelkast, wat prijzig is. Afhankelijk van wat je wil.

Eigenlijk niets! houdt wel rekening dat de accommodatie behoorlijk afgelegen ligt, in een heel klein dorpje waar naast Walhalla slechts twee eenvoudige restaurants te vinden zijn die vooral door locals worden bezocht. Dat vonden wij overigens juist een leuke, authentieke ervaring.

Houd er ook rekening mee dat er in de directe omgeving weinig te doen is. Als je niet van wandelen houdt, zijn de mogelijkheden beperkt. Zoek je juist rust, een prachtig uitzicht en een plek waar je volledig kunt ontspannen en in de watten wordt gelegd, dan is Walhalla Seahouse juist de perfecte bestemming.

I appreciated that the staff tried to accommodate my dietary restrictions on the first night. In fairness, I should have been more specific that I cannot eat tuna. However, there was still a misunderstanding about my request for a very low-carbohydrate meal, and I was repeatedly offered foods such as sweet potatoes and quinoa that I cannot eat. By the second night, I decided to eat outside the hotel because it seemed too difficult to find options that would work for me.

Unfortunately, several advertised amenities were not available during my stay. The rooftop jacuzzi was broken, and the grogue distillery visit mentioned by the property was not being offered because it was low season. I understand that some activities may be seasonal, but it was disappointing to arrive expecting these experiences and find they were unavailable.

My suite’s air conditioning was also unable to cool the room adequately, and it was uncomfortably hot. A simple fan would have helped considerably, but it was never proactively offered. I only received one after I specifically requested it the following morning.

The most disappointing part of my stay was how I was spoken to when I raised concerns. I understand that one person was managing many responsibilities and that it was low season, but I felt dismissed and even scolded for asking for assistance. As a guest, I simply wanted help finding solutions to problems with the room and dinner.

Several reviews mention that the property offers a more personalized experience when the owners are present. Unfortunately, they were not there during my stay. The property itself has tremendous potential, but the lack of communication, proactive problem-solving, and professional hospitality made the experience much less enjoyable than I had hoped.

Unfortunately, the stay ended on a similarly impersonal note. At checkout, after I paid, there was no “thank you for staying,” “have a nice trip,” or even a goodbye.

Soucis de pression d'eau dans la douche

L’emplacement n’est pas forcément le plus approprié pour accéder aux randonnées les plus réputées de Santo Antao, mais permet une déconnexion totale tant le cadre et la vue sont magnifiques.

Prestation sortie en mer et plongée prévues sur le site , ne se font pas !

Piscine de 16 m sur le site ne fait que 10 m !!!
