Pros:

Ballygally Castle was absolutely one of our favorite stays of our trip. The property is beautiful, and we loved how they maintained the character and history of the castle while still making the accommodations feel comfortable and updated. The gardens were gorgeous and such a nice area to explore.
The location was also incredible. The beach is directly across the road, and we spent part of our afternoon walking along the shore, enjoying the scenery and even finding some sea glass. There is also a great play area across the road, which our kids really enjoyed.
We booked two double rooms, and both were excellent. The rooms were clean and comfortable, and the bathrooms were spacious, spotless, and very nice. We didn't eat at the restaurant during our stay, and breakfast wasn't included with our booking, so we can't speak to the food.
One of our favorite surprises was discovering the castle's haunted history! There is even a dedicated Ghost Room, and we later learned that Ballygally Castle is often listed among Ireland's most haunted places. We love anything involving ghosts, folklore, and a little paranormal history, so that made staying in an actual castle even more memorable for us.
Between the castle itself, the beautiful grounds, the beach, and the history, Ballygally felt like much more than simply a place to sleep. It was part of the experience of our trip, and we would absolutely stay here again.

Comfortable and friendly
Pros:

We booked one night room only as we had an early departure for the ferry so no breakfast on this occasion but previous experience has been very good. Hotel is really comfortable and the staff friendly. We had an enjoyable evening meal in the restaurant at reasonable prices for the quality served. We had a sea view room which was lovely as we have stayed before and many of the standard rooms look out onto fire escapes so it was lovely to have a view across the bay. It is a great location.

Cons:

Nothing

Cons:

rien tout était parfait

We really enjoyed it
Pros:

Top Notch. Great location for a wedding and plenty of space indoors and outside.

Cons:

Just a small observation that because it was a buffet breakfast the staff were not really checking if items were running low eg no fried eggs then a wait for more to be prepared.

Great hotel and location, but loud traffic and little else in village.
Pros:

The hotel is lovely, the room was nice, staff were great. Obviously it's right on the beach which is fab though see my note below about traffic. Great base location for all the famous nearby attractions such as the Gobbins, the Giant's Causeway, etc.

Cons:

We paid extra for a sea facing room, but the hotel is right on the road and there's no speed bumps or anything outside. The noise of traffic especially at night when cars and motorbikes were speeding past was so loud and we were constantly woken up. Wish we'd had a back room. It would be lovely if the hotel had more facilities as there's really nothing else in Ballygally except for a shop. If you don't want to eat in the hotel, you'll have to drive quite a bit, there's really nothing in the nearest towns of Larne or Glenarm either. Most of what showed in Google for Larne was actually closed down. The breakfast wasn't included and was £18 each which was a total rob for an only ok fry. Oh, and the bed was two singles stuck together. Kept waking up down the middle of the two mattresses even though it was a 'duluxe' room.
