Letztlich deutlich besser als auf den ersten (auch olfaktorischen) Eindruck.
Pros:

Man kann sehen, dass sämtliche Räumlichkeiten der Unterkunft sehr liebevoll eingerichtet sind und auch die gemeinschaftlichen Räumlichkeiten sind top. Die Unterkunft erinnert von der Gemütlichkeit her an ein klassisches britisches B‘n‘B. Die Suite ist sehr geräumig, das Bad schön mit einer großartigen Whirlpool-Badewanne.

Cons:

Das Haus, in dessen ersten Stock die Unterkunft liegt, macht einen heruntergekommenen Eindruck. Ein Hinweisschild zusätzlich zur E-Mail über Booking
wäre hilfreich, sie zu finden.
Da ich geruchssensibel bin, ist mir direkt der Geruch aufgefallen. In der Suite roch es zudem nach Schimmel.

Pros:

The room was spotless. Host was amazing & really helpful. Location was perfect.

The climb up the stairs. Pleased we only had an overnight bag not a suitcase.

Pros:

Located in the heart of Stratford. The building is an historical structure, too, and furnished with antiques. The rooms are massive and absolutely beautiful.

あれもこれも求めなければグッド
Pros:

清潔で広い部屋。
共有のキッチンには必要なものが全て揃っている。
ただ寝るだけだったので外へ出ていないからロケーションについては不明。

Cons:

車の音が少し気になる。
私が予約した時は少し値段が高かった。
今検索すると２割ほど安い。
ただ寝るだけだったのでこの安い価格ならよかったなと思った。

Pros:

The rooms, kitchen, bathroom were better than the actual pictures online. Kitchen had everything you needed and compliment tea and coffee. Will definitely stay here again. I requested a late checkout on morning of departure and it wasn't an issue. Great value for money! Thanks!

What we liked:
The proprietor was lovely, friendly and welcoming. We happened to meet her near the entrance, which was fortunate because we had been struggling to find it.

Our rooms were generously sized, clean and thoughtfully styled. The beds were very comfortable and beautifully made, with electric blankets provided. There was also a large-screen television, and one of our rooms had a wonderful view of Mount Taranaki. The shared kitchen and dining facilities appeared well equipped, although we did not use them.

Cons:

Unfortunately, the photographs did not prepare us for the overall condition of the building. Although considerable care has clearly gone into styling and maintaining the rooms, the building itself appeared very run-down, both outside and throughout the shared areas. There was a noticeable smell of damp on entering the rooms, as well as large areas of paintwork visibly bulging away from the walls, which appeared consistent with significant moisture damage. This made the rooms feel less comfortable despite their otherwise thoughtful presentation.
It was extremely cold during our stay. A heater was provided in each bedroom, but the hallways, bathroom and other shared spaces remained very cold. Because of this, we spent the evening in our rooms, went to bed early and left soon after waking.

The shared shower was also awkward to access, as it was raised on a plinth requiring three steps up and down. This may be difficult for anyone with reduced mobility.

The accommodation is located on a busy road opposite a petrol station. We also noticed an “Earthquake Prone Building” notice near the front entrance, which we had not been aware of when booking and would have preferred to know about beforehand.

Overall, we felt the listing photographs did not accurately convey the condition and atmosphere of the wider property. Given the price, the accommodation did not represent good value for us. Despite the warm welcome, comfortable beds and obvious attention paid to presentation, we would not choose to stay here again.
