Couldn’t get in ,lady who lives around the back on a mattress was more help than anyone.the front door was open.couldn’t contact anyone for help and just disgusting

Where to start… we were lucky enough to not have to stay the night after seeing the room, therefore we managed to book somewhere else. Old dirty mattress under the stairwell aswell as a razor on the steps leading up to the rooms. On entering the room we found the radiator hanging off the wall and I wouldn’t even wash my dog in the shower that was in there. We knew access was a keysafe but the inconvenience of not having anyone (reception) to air our concerns too was slightly frustrating. The double bed was damaged with a sharp exposed edge and the single bed had no pillow as well as a headboard that looked like it was stuck together with Prit stick. Although the cost was very cheap I would have expected something a bit more cleaner/safer.

The room door wasn’t secure, the smoke alarm was pulled off the ceiling, the walls were dirty, there was a plug socket pulled off the wall, slats were missing on the double bed and single bed, there was a child’s T-shirt at the side of the single bed as well as what looked like a used condom. WiFi was advertised but I had to message to find out if there was WiFi just to be sent the password.

The keys to the communal door were in a lockbox were in a lock box but the smart lock code provided for entry to the property didn't work. I couldn't get hold of the seller immediately so contacted booking.com with video proof that I couldn't gain entry and had to leave to go home without staying but am being refused a refund. The place was terrible. Despite it saying the whole property was yours, it is a communal lounge and kitchen with 4 code entry bedrooms. I found out that the code i was trying to use was the same as another guy trying to enter his room so all 4 bedrooms have the same lock code entry meaning that anyone with a room booked could enter all other rooms. The other resident said there are no tv's in the individual rooms so you could not watch tv or relax in the lounge without being with the other reaidents. The place was damp smelling and dirty and entry to the property was up a set of metal industrial stairs so anyone with limited mobility could not access their room potentially. In the alleyway where you enter the property was a damp, mouldy, dirty mattress. Please do not try and stay here. I had a 3 hour journey to get there then had to drive home because I couldn't get in

Nothing was right and managed very unprofessionally

Turned up, no keys as promised in the key box.
Someone else in our room.
Me and my wife were just left stranded without any help, having travelled 300 miles to get there.
Phoned the host but their number didn't exist.
Also messaged them so many times without any response. In fact when I messaged them, their reply (which I assume was automated) was to thank us for staying and prompted us to give them a 10.
Totally unbelievable. This property needs to be taken off the Booking.com website before they destroy other lives with their rediculous promises.
What was more concerning that booking.com didn't help me either that night. When we needed a human person to help us, they seriously let me down.
Just an American sounding AI robot which decided that it couldn't help us. Am a genius level 3 member where I spend so much with them, so god help others. A totally negative experience all round.
Beware of the huge steps leading to the front door which were absolutely nerve racking walking up.
No lighting either.
