Very bad hotel and bad experience

The location near river

Cons:

Our stay was extremely disappointing and nowhere near a five-star experience. Despite paying USD 165 per night after discount, we waited 25 minutes for someone to collect our luggage, the Wi-Fi was terrible, and the bathroom was not properly cleaned—we found dirt under the toilet seat, and even after someone came to fix it, a strong glue smell remained for more than 24 hours. Construction and maintenance work started at 8:00 a.m., so we woke up to loud drilling and banging instead of birdsong. At 11:00 p.m., an employee switched off the lights in the billiards area and told us it was closing, while no one was available at reception and the receptionist was found sleeping on the floor. The waiters had no proper uniforms or suitable shoes and appeared dressed for a party rather than working at a five-star hotel. There was no fridge in the room, the food was poor, and breakfast consisted of little more than fruit, tea, coffee, and an omelette. Overall, this hotel does not deserve its five-star rating—in our experience, even one star would be generous.

Schönes Hotel mit einer tollen Ausblick.
Pros:

Die Lage ist toll. Wir sind mit dem Boot zum Hotel gefahren, der Gepäcktransport ist mal was anderes :-)

Cons:

Aufgrund von einer Hotelerweiterung war unser Zimmerausblick nicht so schön. Da wir nur eine Nacht dort waren und auch kaum am Zimmer, hat uns das nicht beeinträchtigt.
Das Bad ist in Ordnung. Wenn man duscht ist allerdings das halbe Bad nass.

Right by the river
Pros:

The location of the resort was great, right by the river and the staff even had kayaks out for us to use. The resort looks nice, giving a relaxing vibe with a yoga setup but in the evening they would put on loud pop music which took away the tranquil feel of the place and it seemed to clash with the yoga setup. The food was ok but they didn't have enough for all the guests. Felt it was a bit over priced for what they offered.

מקום מיוחד מאד, לא לוותר עליו!

מקום מאד מאד יפה ומיוחד, מעוצב מודרני בטוב טעם. בריכה נעימה ומחוממת.
הבעלים מקסים ומאד עוזר, היו קצת תקלות פה ושם אבל כל דבר טופל וסודר באופן כמעט מיידי. אוכל מצוין, מומלץ לסגור חצי פנסיון כי המקום קצת מרוחק. הצוות מקסים ומאד עוזר.

Cons:

הוייפיי היה בעייתי אבל הצוות ממש ניסה לעזור.
היתה לנו בעיה של הצפה של מים במקלחת אבל הצוות סידר.

המלון הכי טוב שהיינו בו בסרי לנקה

אהבנו הכל- שירות נפלא, המלון יפיפה, הבריכה נעימה. עשינו קייקים עם הילדים בחינם כחלק מהשירות של המלון. התפריט מגוון והאוכל טעים. החדרים נוחים מאוד והנוף מקסים. מבחינתנו מקום מושלם

נהדר!! אל תהססו בכלל!!!

מקום חלומי!! זה גן עדן עלי אדמות. היינו רוצים להישאר עוד ולצערנו לא יכולנו. הצוות נהדר ומקסים. המנהל דאג לנו אישית וסידר לנו רופא ובדיקות מחוץ לשעות הפעילות. היו מאד גמישים איתנו עם ארוחות. בקיצור, מקום מושלם!!!

אין. הכל נהדר. זה מקום אוטופי. לא דמיינו שיכול להיות מקום אמיתי יפה כל כך.

Pros:

The location, surrounding and dinner were good. Staff was nice and tried to help. Pool was nice as well.

Cons:

There were ants in the bathroom, no blankets in the the room, twin beds for the kids were too short, breakfast was disappointing and the dining room wasn’t air conditioned while temperature outside is 30c.

Prachtig locatie, jammer van de bouwwerken
Pros:

Een prachtige locatie aan de rivier. Het hotel heeft een mooi restaurant, mooi zwembad. Je kan er echt een dagje relaxen. Het hotel is heel netjes en de ‘housekeeper’ ziet alles en wil het je naar je zin maken.

Cons:

Er zijn bouwwerken bezig aan het hotel. Je zit echt tussen 2 werven met HEEL veel bouwvakkers en HEEL veel lawaai vooral aan het zwembad. Dit van in de vroege uurtjes tot in de late avond, 7 op 7. De barmannen lopen vooral rond en alles duurt HEEL lang.

Verblijf in de natuur
Pros:

Voor de prijs die we betaald hebben, was dit een tophotel. Update gekregen vanwege werken op het domein. Mooie en propere kamer, comfortabel bed en hoofdkussen, goede airco, groot zwembad, goede ligging als je rafting/canyoning wil doen, mooie natuurlijke omgeving aan de rivier, vriendelijk personeel, goed ontbijt en avondeten

Cons:

Alles was goed. Hou er rekening mee dat het hotel afgelegen is. Voor ons is dit echter een pluspunt. Tijdens de dag waren werken in het hotel, maar geluid was ok.

מקום מושלם ומבודד, נקי באמצע שום מקום. ההגעה לשם בסירה. נוף מהמם.

אין גיוון בארוחות וזה קצת בעייתי כי די תקועים שם. בנוסף, בבריכה הקרמיקה חותכת היא לא משויפת וזה ממש מסוכן. גם אני וגם הבנות שלי נחתכנו בתוך הבריכה. הזיה שזה ככה.

Perfect place to stay in Kitugala
Pros:

Situated nicely on the river with great views from room and the pool area. Staff was very kind and eager to help and made the stay pleasant. Restaurant was also delicious. Wouldn’t hesitate to stay here again if in the area.

Cons:

The only negative, which is temporary, was there’s some construction happening to add onto the hotel. The staff was very apologetic of it.

Het uitzicht was prachtig bij de rivier. Bedden waren prima.

Cons:

Het hotel is slecht bereikbaar. De beschrijving dat je met een bootje naar de overkant gaat hebben wij niet ervaren. De weg naar het hotel toe is slecht.
Bij aankomst bleek dat ze flink aan bouwen zijn, dit staat nergens vermeld. Ze zijn aan de zijkant van het zwembad aan het verbouwen, terwijl je bij jet zwembad ligt hoor je de verbouwing werkzaamheden. De kamer is prima, alleen de badkamer is vreselijk verouderd.

Het eten in de avond viel tegen, weinig smaak. We hadden vroeg ontbijt en de warme gerechten waren koud, ze werden niet warm gehouden. De heer aan de receptie is niet de meest vriendelijke heer.

Schrecklich und nie wieder!
Pros:

Dieses Hotel ist absolut nicht das was es vorgibt. Es soll ein 5 Sterne Ressort sein, dabei sind etwa 5 Sterne zu viel. Aktuell ist es eine Baustelle, der Pool ist dreckig und wird nicht geputzt, kein Safe im gebuchten Zimmer und das Bett, welches extra gross und über 2 Meter lang sein soll, laut Beschreibung ist maximal 190cm gross.
Am Vorabend erhielten wir die Info, dass wir zum Carparkplatz gehen sollen. Von dort werden wir mit dem hoteleigenen Boot zum Hotel gefahren. Dort angekommen war niemand vor Ort. Als wir angerufen haben meinten sie, dass wir zum Hotel fahren sollen. Der Service gibt es aktuell nicht.

Auch gibt es aktuell kein Yogabereich. Überall wird gearbeitet und es herrscht viel Baulärm vom hämmern etc.
Angeblich gab es Überschwemmungen durch Hochwasser des angrenzenden Flusses. Dafür habe ich ja Verständnis aber dies muss zwingend kommuniziert werden. Definitiv keine 5 Sterne, vielleicht 1 bis 2 Sterne.

Obwohl der Hotelmanager und ein weiterer Angestellten an der Rezeption waren und uns gesehen haben wurde wir nicht begrüsst. Eigentlich ist es mir egal, aber in jedem anderen Hotel wurden wir freundlich empfangen und unser Gepäck wurde direkt vom Tuktuk abgeholt. Hier mussten wir selber ausladen und der Hotelmanager würdigte uns keines Blickes.

Cons:

Leider wie so immer müsse die Angestellten dafür büssen. Der Houskeepeer war sehr verständnisvoll u d hilfsbereit. Er hat vieles gut gemacht und versuchte zu vermitteln. Ihm gebührt ein grosses Lob.
Das Essen war soweit in Ordnung. Jedoch gab es vom gesamten Angebot auch nicht alles. Genau so wenig gab es beispielsweise Cola Zero. Kein Muss aber in einem angeblichen 5 Sterne Ressort nicht akzeptabel.
Wir haben in mehreren 5 Sterne Hotel auf unserer Sei Lanka Reise übernachtet und da waren definitiv andere Standards. Also bitte passt die Sternebewertung an und informiert ü er den aktuellen Zustand, die Bauarbeiten etc.
Nach unserer Reklamation wurde uns ein Zimmerupgrade angeboten, das wir angenommen haben. Das war einiges besser und auch das Bett war grösser. Der Safe, der zum Zimmer gehörte, musste jedoch erst gebracht werden. Auch im Zimmer davor war kein Safe, trotz Zimmerbeschreibung, vorhanden.
