Just as I was stepping into the shower I realised there were no towels in the room. Had to get dressed again - long walk to reception. Overnight desk staff handed me towels with no apology and smirked in my face when I asked for one.
The lack of towels was a minor but annoying hassle. The attitude of the staff really got under my skin.
This is the second time my husband and I have stayed here as it is very close to my son's home in Ruddington. We stayed last Christmas as it was so close and reasonably priced but we so enjoyed our stay we went there again and have booked this Christmas. Usual good beds as in all Premier Inns but the joy here is the quality of the breakfast and the friendliness of the staff
Perfect for my needs. Breakfast was good in the attached beefeater. Did not eat dinner. Room was clean albeit small but had everything I required. Good price and value for money. Would absolutely stay again without hesitation
The beefeater next door has the rudest male and female member of staff I've ever encountered. Order side saled, which came as a pate' starter for somoene else. Threw myvside salad on my table. No manners. Only two staff serving, constantly moaning. Takes 20 mins to order food. Never again
We stayed in a standard double for two nights room was very clean and warm for November nights bed was comfy with a walk in shower staff was very welcoming and helpful. Location good with a tram outside every 10mins to the city centre of Nottingham. We stayed here for a christmas shopping and market weekend
Unfortunately not a good room. Very tired with damage and rust. Unusually low standard for a premier inn. We will avoid in the future.
Annual trip to Xmas market in Nottingham and first time we didn’t stay city centre . This will now be our first choice. Easy free parking , simply enter reg plate in hotel reception. Tram stop few steps from the hotel. £5.50 per person all day travel. Arrived in middle of all the hustle and bustle of the lace market about 15 mins hassle free. No driving round searching for parking spaces and then lugging cases to hotel. Would have liked early check in but no availability, the lady on reception found us somewhere to get changed and stored luggage, all while being super friendly and welcoming.
Breakfast, in an attractive beefeater on site, the usual PI standard .
My wife and I and our Guide Dog puppy stayed at the Premier Inn, Harpole, just off the M1, enroute to the Guide Dog training centre in Sheffield. We requested a room near the lift and were supplied with same. Our room was clean and extremely comfortable and there was a fantastic area around the hotel to run and allow our puppy to spend. We paid for and evening meal and breakfast at the Beefeater next door and were superbly dealt with by staff who were extremely attentive to both us and our Guide Dog puppy. Excellent food and a full and tasty breakfast. Would highly recommend this hotel to anyone.
Went to my room which was really shabby with a loose toilet seat virtually hanging off so I went down and asked if this was the best they could do and I was allocated another room.
Really helpful staff but on getting into the shower in my new room the shower head didn't fit the hose and there was water going everywhere at which point the shower door virtually fell off on closure lol.
I would have laughed except I paid nearly 400 pounds for three nights.
"Premier"not sure about that really, surely you can do a bit better?
Annoying electric radiator beeps when it comes on so had to turn it right down to avoid it waking my son during the night so chilly upon waking. Tried working out how to disable the beep but no such luck
A hastily dug shell scrape was better than this soulless dwelling. The staff were as miserable as Angela Rayner at a Unite vote of confidence meeting. The staff all had a cloud of doom hanging over them. A death row prisoner waiting for the guard to throw the switch on the electric chair would be more cheerful than this ensemble. The welcome was all but non existent, charisma bypass one and all. The staff looked like they had been press ganged into being there or serve on the Ukrainian front line.
No aircon in the room made sleep only possible through exhaustion. I now know how Alec Guinness felt in that sweat box in the movie 'Bridge Over the River Kwai'.
The hotel should be shut down until aircon units are fitted in the room window space.
Wi-Fi was very slow and kept disconnecting.
Food was served at the adjoining Beefeater restaurant. The building reeked of dampness and was almost as stiflingly hot as the hotel. No smell of food at all, probably due to the food being precooked and microwaved to give it heat.
The whole experience was unforgettable, unfortunately. We definitely won't be back. Find a homeless encampment if you can, at least the visiting NGO do gooder will give you a smile.
Sally & Mandy where lovely at the front desk and helped me out with my internet problem and room change, would like to thank them both for my experience and there kind hearts and laughter, very thoughtful and great service from both ladies, take care girls.
We stopped off here twice, on the way to and from our holiday to break up the journey and both times the service was excellent. The ladies at the front desk were so helpful and welcoming and made checking in very easy! They were also so kind to our little boy and really put him at ease. The rooms both times were spotless, the beds were comfortable and all the facillities were in good working order. On our first stay we had breakfast which was a very pleasant experience. There were plenty of continental and hot food options and everything tasted great!
Convenient to Northampton, Hotel and Beefeater in need of refurbishment and all looking a bit tired but value for money
Quiet and fairly small Nottingham South Premier Inn is a welcoming hotel with helpful staff. Free car parking and tasty freshly cooked breakfast are a real plus. The choice at breakfast was good.
The beds are comfy but with very hot duvets.
The bathroom is unsafe. There is only a poor overhead shower. There are no safety rails in the shower. The side of the bath has sharp rails where you step out...they're in the way. The bath is a strange shape and looks difficult to use.
A usable and safe shower is urgently needed.
Having written that...the hotel does have a pleasant environment and staff eager to please.
A lovely warm welcome from Angelita at check in and at breakfast the next morning. Great room, comfy bed. Lovely, spotless breakfast room, top quality breakfast and nothing was too much trouble. Gluten free options fab too. All the staff encountered were very professional, efficient and friendly. Thanks for a great stay
Was very poor cleanliness I had found pubic hair on the toilet seat which should definitely not be there I had a 2 year old running around as it was a family outing so she could of touched it or anything if I hadn’t found it first….
Bed and mattress maybe they need a new mattress I woke up at 5am couldn’t get back to sleep as the mattress was far to hard for my liking other than that the hotel was just like a standerd hotel nothing special
I stayed here with my husband for 3 days before visiting my son in dubai, a lovely crew of people with very respectibal rooms, had breakfast here aswell and it was delicious. I was a bit confudled about the low groaning noise every night around 9.52, sounds slightly like a whale calf from david Attenboroughs blue planet we watched that night on my hubby's galaxy mini iPad.
Like many past reviews,I feel that this hotel is in dire need of renovation.
The room we stayed in was quite dated and the furniture, carpets and general state of it required attention.
The small portable television was positioned on the side of the standing wardrobe and very 90’s!
Not the standards I’m used to whilst staying in the many PremierInn’s I’ve visited and hope they invest in bringing this one up to the expectations that their loyal customers are used to.
The bed was comfortable.
The room definitely in need of a deep clean and some attention to detail.
All in all, passable but disappointing in comparison to all other rooms I’ve stayed it with PremierInn.
This a large Premier Inn hotel close to the M1, off the A610 four miles north of Nottingham. It offers free parking as long as you register you number plate on the tablet in reception and is opposite the Phoenix Park tram stop which provides convenient green transport into the city centre, universities and attractions. Staff were friendly and our room was modern, clean and well maintained.
We were on a dinner bed and breakfast deal with the Miller's Barn Beefeater next door which offered great value for money, good service and great food and drink.
