Quite hard to find the hotel in the dark as the road system around it is a bit confusing!
Great that the restaurant is accessed from the hotel and good space for breakfast
All Receptionists very helpful
Especially BARBARA on reception during the evening was amazing and soo helpful
Exceptional hotel.
Clean and inviting.
Staff superb.
Free car parking bonus.
Great links to motorway and Peak District.
We visited several places whilst here and it was central to everything.
Definitely be back next year.
Lovely staff, very clean. The breakfast was presented beautifully and cooked to perfection by Joel, a credit to the company. Will definitely visit again. Thank you James Fox
Nice rooms, beds comfy as advertised, breakfasts excellent. All good but....
... My wife and I booked 2-nights; 11th & 12th Nov-25, at the Premier Inn, Chesterfield North [Tapton Lock] to visit family at Holmewood. It all went horribly wrong when my wife suffered a medical emergency on the 12th and was admitted to Chesterfield hospital for what turned out to be 5-days.
The staff at this Hotel cannot be praised highly enough. I'm certain that they are trained to be friendly to customers but that training was superfluous because I was left in no doubt that it came naturally. It left me with a very good impression of Derbyshire and it's people.
Because none of my cards worked, I had difficulty Internet booking on a dayly basis. The receptionist helped me to book on more than one occasion using the card machine on the desk. Another time the 'night man' Troy] did the same after I came back late from the hospital. They were all very patient with me.
On another day the hotel was full but the receptionist came through to the dining room to inform me of a cancellation which she then managed to secure for me. I was very grateful. Every time I walked though reception or into the dining room someone would ask. 'How is your wife?'
For a trip which started with two of us, I was left alone but not lonely because of the staff at this hotel.
Thank you!
John
Amazing service. Welcomed with a warm smile and accommodated for very quickly.
Room is clean and spacious. Will definitely be staying again.
We stayed here for two nights. We could not fault a single thing both at Premierinn and in Brewers Fayre next door. Our room was spotlessly clean as usual and lovely and warm. At breakfast on the second morning, there was a fire alarm. As it happens it was a false alarm as the alarms were being tested. However, both the manager on duty and the lady topping up the breakfast offering handled this with professionalism and common sense. We all felt extremely well looked after and quickly returned to our meals. Well done team we had a grest stay.
Barbara at reception was particularly welcoming and helpful! Big car park and attached to a restaurant. Book restaurant as does get busy, especially at breakfast
Wonderful staff on reception especially Barbara, willing to support all customers, friendly environment.
Food good as on meal deal, could do with a bigger range choice.
I spent two nights here and it is well situated an easy walk from the centre of Cheltenham, the check in was really quick and the staff friendly. Its a smaller Premier Inn so the room didnt have a fridge or a safe but that really didnt matter, it was clean, comfortable, quiet, the bed was really comfortable and i had a really good nights sleep. I enjoyed the breakfast i had the full english option with the continental or you can have the continental option only, if you dont fancy walking into the centre the bus stop is handy with busses running every 10 minutes.
The room 29 was absolutely filthy
Floor filthy bathroom sink and bath filthy couldn't have a bath the plug broken
Kettle full of scale and what looked like phlegm in the bottom.
Remote absolutely filthy covered in dead skin and dust and falling apart.
Whole building very run down very disappointed and not up to the standard of any other Premier inns stayed in.
Do not stay here.
I hope premier inn will contact me to explain the extremely poor conditions of this hotel and a plan to improve cleaning and maintenance as this is not acceptable.
Couldn't complain at the time as we were under time constraints.
Fantastic customer service from Barbara on reception. My companies booking agent hadn’t confirmed my booking for my overnight stay. Barbara quickly and professionally sorted my reservation dealing directly with the agent via telephone. Barbara also helped an elderly gentleman with his check-in at the same time as she helped me, taking her time explaining everything to him in a professional manner.
The bar staff were also great. Very comfortable room. 5 stars from me.
We parked fairly easily although a lot of the spaces are now used by people parking for McDonalds. The front of the hotel looks shabby now, but it did once look quite smart. Checking in was easy & our room looked pretty good. The beds & pillows were really comfy, as always. The bathroom looked in need of refurbishment. The towel rail was rusty. there was what looked like tin foil hanging off the shower curtain rail. In the bath here was thick black mould behind the soap dispenser, around the grab handles and under the overflow. This is purely due to a lack of proper cleaning & would be easy to remove with a squirt of household spray and an old toothbrush. The floor had an area of very thick dust. 2 mugs were provided so we could make tea or coffee but no glasses. Internet access was very dreadful and we chose not to pay an additional £5/day to upgrade - it's never been that bad when we've stayed here before so we think this is just a scheme to get an extra £5 a day from us. We've been coming for a couple of days once a year for quite a number of years and although the beds are still really comfy it all looks rather shabby now. I think we may have to look for an air B&B next year.
The booking process was easy, check in was smooth, the room was clean, the bed was comfortable, the staff were friendly and the breakfast was delicious. Exactly what was needed!
Room was as expected really snotty woman on reception when checking in though really unwelcoming other than that decent stay good breakfast
We stayed at the premier inn Cheltenham central (west/a40) hotel
Came up for a wedding, lovely stay and the the breakfast was absolutely delicious , all prepared by the Chef Joel , he went above and beyond in providing an exemplary service throughout ..
From check in to checking out service, cleanliness and breakfast were excellent. Staff helpful, food at breakfast was warm and freshly cooked.
Dining area very clean.
Sharon and her colleague at reception were so helpful and friendly, made are stay very easy and would definitely stay here again.
I stay in many well run prem inns across the UK & you learn to accept a fairly uniform standard with prem inns. "You know what you are paying for". What makes the difference is the interaction from the people and I must say on this occasion Emma (although possibly management and seemed very busy) stood out with her attention to service, took the time and made me feel welcome as a person, not just a number or another guest.
A very nice hotel it's a pity the staff who work there are rude ,arrogantly awkward when serving the likes of me who are customers. I thought it was just me but having spoken to other family members the experience was not just shared by me ,not a pleasant experience at all ,if invited to another function there I would decline.
We arranged for an early check in as we were going to a wedding. We were greeted by a lovely receptionist who checked us in promptly. We had a great conversation and she even interacted with the children.
Room was spotless when we went in. There was some treats left for the children which was a great touch. When we came back from the wedding later that night the receptionist was there again to greet us with a genuine interest if we had a good day.
Breakfast is in the restaurant attached very busy on a Sunday morning but plentiful. We would definitely recommend this hotel as were made to feel so welcome.
