Excellent place to stay - easy access, nice and quiet and the rooms are all top notch. Excellent staff who couldn’t do enough for us. We were at a concert up at the 02 area which is a 25 min drive so perfect location for London without being in london
Arrived at premier inn to find staff member smoking outside and had to wait to be booked in as self service wouldn’t work. When down for dinner after been told to book a table, stood waiting to be seated for 15 mins, the a further 45 mins to get starter! GET MORE STAFF!
Room fine, no issues and usual standard.
I’d strongly recommend not booking a meal deal as you cannot be sure that you will get served, good news is McDonald’s is across the road. Staff not very helpful but clearly over stretched hence the abrupt tone.
Extremely Disappointing Stay - Poor Room Quality and Value
Rating: 1/5 (Terrible Value)
I chose this Premier Inn location in Strood as I was visiting a friend's local restaurant, and I have previously found the Premier Inn chain to offer excellent value for money. Sadly, this stay fell far short of expected standards and was ultimately very disappointing, especially considering the price paid (£90+).
On arrival, the reception staff were friendly and efficient, and parking seemed fine. However, upon entering our room, the problems became immediately apparent. There was a distinct and very unpleasant smell, which we attempted to remedy by opening the window, only to find the windows were locked shut.
The room condition was frankly poor. We noticed signs of dampness in the bathroom area. More concerningly, there was noticeable writing and marks on the walls, suggesting previous guests (likely children) had caused damage that had not been properly cleaned or repaired. The carpet near the bath was also sticking up and lifting, which felt unhygienic and was a trip hazard. Additionally, the room had a connecting door to an adjacent room (likely part of a family setup), which was unsettling despite being locked.
When I reported the room's poor condition and the smell to reception, I was informed that they were fully booked (due to film crews staying at the hotel) and therefore couldn't offer us a different room. This lack of resolution for multiple major issues—including a locked window and damp—was unacceptable, especially having paid over £90 for the night. The overall experience felt like a gross misuse of money for a damaged and substandard room.
I would strongly advise management to address the maintenance issues in this room immediately. This stay was incredibly poor value for money and unfortunately ruined my perception of the quality control at this particular hotel.
The room was comfortable, clean and tidy as the rest of the hotel was too. Check in was quick and easy, facilities as advertised. Parking easy but does get busy in the evenings, still managed to find a space. In a good location, find the noises from the nearby motorway and railway don't cause much issue unless the windows are open. Unfortunately, the air conditioning didn't seem to be working meaning we had a very sweaty night despite it being late November. Would stay again but only if the heating/cooling issues are sorted.
Our annual Christmas shopping trip to Rochester was another great success. We love the great selection of independent, vintage and charity shops in the High Street and plenty of places to stop for lunch. As always we stayed at the Premier Inn where we received a lovely welcome from a great, efficient and friendly team. Nothing is ever too much trouble for the staff and they looked after us beautifully especially Kiera and Anya. It's not flash or fancy but provides everything we need, including a comfy sleep, and is such great value, leaving us with a bigger shopping budget. See you again soon.
I stayed in this hotel from 4/11 to 6/11 thinking I got a very good deal when we visited our daughter in Ringwood. I have stayed at this hotel before and have never been charged for parking my car there in their car park. I was not informed of car parking charges when I booked online, I was not made aware of car parking charges when I booked in and was not made aware when I booked out!!
There is I am told car parking charges signs all over the car park but to be honest I didn’t look for these when I parked, as I said I had stayed here before and was never charged.
We are aware on holiday at the moment and I have someone monitoring our mail whilst are away and I have been charged/fined 3 times at a cost of £57.00 for the 4/11 the 5/11 and driving out on the 6/11, so a good deal has turned into a complete rip off. I paid £57.00 or if I had not had my mail monitored I would have had to pay £95.00 3 times!!!
I just wanted everyone to be aware of the charges so the same doesn’t happen to anyone else as I feel this is exploitation at the highest level of deceit
The main outside door was locked at it was past midnight (1.20am). I was left outside in the freezing cold for almost 45 minutes. i was knocking the door, calling the hotel phone, knocking the frosted staff window from outside and nothing. I ended up walking round the back and found an unlocked door which went into the kitchen. i checked around and no one was there, i managed to find my way into reception to find a note from another customer where they had the same issue of no staff and wanted a refund. the time left on their note was 11.45pm. finally someone come out, she had clearly been asleep and admitted this. by now it was 2am. I said how i got in and she didnt seem phased at all the building was unsecure and anyone could of come in and done a lot worse than i did. i filmed the whole thing just to cover myself walking in, also took a picture from the note left by the other customer incase that was binned. It was minus 2 outside, i was freezing and left outside. this is beyond unacceptable and then the worry of anyone being able to walk in how i did. i didnt get into my room until 215 and i was then unable to sleep being so wound up and cold. i feel this is very below any standards from premier inn. I wish to request a refund to my personal account and not my business one as it was me who had the lack of sleep and not my business! the safety risk for your customers last night and access into the kitchens is terrible! sure there is plenty of cctv to back up my case.
Often stay here and get used to hearing the trains at the rear of the building …. However I do not expect to hear a lorry being unloaded at 7 am on a Saturday morning!! All we could hear were the metal trollies for ages . It was unbelievably noisy especially since we were on the 3rd floor! It woke us up and spoiled our weekend lay in ! Does it need to be that early ? Complained to manager and that was the explanation to the noise .
First class service from the reception staff and in the restaurant. The breakfast was 11 out of 10 with as much as you could eat and everything was freshly cooked to perfection. large choice of everything and all good quality. Not really much more to say apart from all you other chains take note!!!
It is difficult to choose an overall rating for this hotel. If I was judging it purely on the comfort and cleanliness of our room, then it would have been five 'stars'. However, if determined on only the restaurant, it would at best be three. Our room was spotless in every respect and provided a comfortable stay. Also, the reception my partner and I received on checking in was exemplary. But, after having just one evening meal and one breakfast at the establishment, we ate at at restaurants or cafes in Ringwood. The main problem was that the date of our stay was during school half term time and Premier Inn was promoting the offer 'Kids eat free'. Consequently, any idea of a relaxing meal or breakfast was no more than a pipe dream. I had to remonstrate with a father who allowed his toddler to disturb our evening meal (which was actually cooked well), while our breakfast was consumed amidst the bedlam of poorly-controlled infants. Food simply ran out very quickly, if it was there in the first place (e.g., the 'fruit salad' apparently comprised just berries in juice). Our woes were compounded by a waitress who, on our request for a table away from the busiest part of the room, virtually ordered us to sit where she'd indicated. No doubt, if we were to return to the hotel out of half term time we would find the restaurant quite acceptable, but the experience has unfortunately coloured our memory of Ringwood Premier Inn.
Tidy room. Warmest welcome ! Staffs are very polite and helpful. Foods and drinks in the restaurant are very good. Beds are comfortable.
Had a great stay at Ringwood premier inn. All the staff were very friendly especially the young chap, Tobey. I had the meal deal on the last night of my stay which is great value for money! Will definitely come back again
Never stay at this hotel. AC unit makes so much noise even when "turned off".
After a little googling i realised the fuse box to the room could be completely turned off, which did infact turn the AC off. I was then met with the sound of about 8 large generators/fans directly below our room!!!
(Room 320)
I asked if i could be moved further away but apprently no other rooms available.
I would never come back here and i suggest if you are travelling to Ringwood do not choose to stay in the Premier Inn.
Spotlessly clean and one of the best Premier Inn’s we have stayed in. had a meal and the food was excellent. All the staff were friendly and chatty. Manager was superb !
Thanks !
stayed in premier room , only 1 lot of towels and when we went for breakfast only 1 member of staff ( working hard) was carnage and running out of food as quick as it’s dished up
On arrival our Room smelled of 'feet' wish windows would open slightly as the rooms get very stuffy and A/C too cold and made us cough. Talking to others of similar age, we hope this chain would consider more rooms with walk in showers, as found getting in and out of bath quite challenging, although not disabled! The young cleaner lady was very good.
I had a great stay at Ringwood whilst visiting family.
Breakfast and dinner were both great and the staff were very welcoming.
I originally booked a disabled room for our stay for the evening before our daughters wedding, but had to change my booking as my husband passed away unexpectedly. When I phoned, Nick was so helpful and amended my booking and made sure the rest of my family also staying at the hotel, were in rooms near me. On arrival to my room Nick and the staff had left me a card and gifts to help make my stay a little easier. I just want to say a big thank you to Nick and all the staff for your excellent care and service, everyone had a lovely stay.
When I walked in the room it smelt lovely and fresh.
The whole facilities were up to a excellent standard
Thank you will be returning
lovely clean hotel staff friendly, room was cleaned by kaye who left us hot chocolate and biscuits in the room which was a nice surprise. thanks guys
