Good location but needs work.
Pros:

Location next to rail station, easy walk to town along the canal. Staff were welcoming and polite. Free coffee was very welcome.

Cons:

Definitely showing its age and in need of refurbishment, rooms quite small and furniture is dated and in need of replacement, tiles in bathroom need a good scrub. Walls are very thin. Be warned it is on the flight path for the airport so can be noisy with low flying air traffic. Multi level Motel style building won't suit everyone as stairs are quite steep (no lift) with unusually high handrails, outdoor corridor matting was quite slippery in places as it had rained, although to be fair there are warning notices. Disappointing that despite menus being everywhere there was only pizza available which meant we had to eat elsewhere (there was a discount voucher in the room which made it look an attractive offer but wasn't to be). I would consider staying again if coming by train due to the location but would have to be at a very good price, it was just about value for money if you don't mind a slightly lower standard of room.

Ideal for a short stay and location for my trip to Chester.
Pros:

The room was clean, comfortable and ideal for my stay. The staff were very helpful and very friendly. Breakfast was very nice and just what I needed in the morning.

Cons:

Hotel just needs a bit of a freshen up with some decorating, otherwise it was fine.

With refurbishment and maybe make the staircase safer it would definitely be a place I’d go back to.
Pros:

Good location next to Runcorn train station. Very clean staff lovely

Cons:

There was no lift only stone outside spiral staircase which made it hard carrying luggage up to my room. Bed was 2 single ones clipped together and the mattress was too soft. Rooms Needs refurbishing desperately.

Perfect stay for Creamfields
Pros:

Staff were really helpful both before and during my stay. They provided guidance before the stay on travel to and from Creamfields and showed me how to get a taxi. When I came back from Creamfields, there was food being served in the bar area until 4am which was perfect. Everyone was really friendly

Cons:

Clearly paid a premium given it was Creamfields weekend but it is a great location and the hotel was geared up for the event.
