Highly recommend staying here
Pros:

Great location right next to the Chowrasta market for breakfast and only a short walk to other landmark sites in Georgetown. Very friendly and responsive staff. Everything as described, including very good AC in the room that's far enough away from the bed for those who don't like having it directly on them. And, while the (half -)outdoor bathroom can be hot, we enjoyed having that open space. Also lots of different lamps, international plug adaptors and a filter for free drinking water provided, and daily housekeeping on request. Would stay here again!

Cons:

The access to the apartment and the walls inside are a bit worn, and the stairs are fairly steep, especially with luggage, but this wouldn't stop us from staying again.

Convient for a short getaway.
Pros:

Great location! Morning market food stall is just downstairs. Nearby to many shops and restaurants.
Spacious room, comfortable bed. The glass door blocks the noise from the outside.
Microwave and utensils for makan our take away are a plus 👍

Je déconseille fortement cet hébergement.

L’adresse indiquée sur Booking ne correspond pas à la réalité. Une autre localisation a été envoyée après réservation via WhatsApp, à quelques minutes de la première.

Sur place, les conditions d’accès à la chambre ne sont pas standards : absence de serrure classique, porte sécurisée par un cadenas externe fourni par l’établissement.

La première chambre présentait un problème d’ouverture nécessitant l’intervention du personnel.

Dans la seconde chambre, un incident sérieux s’est produit : après fermeture avec le cadenas fourni, celui-ci s’est bloqué, empêchant une sortie normale pendant un certain temps.

Ces conditions ont rendu le séjour difficile et non conforme à une prestation hôtelière standard. Une demande d’annulation et de remboursement a été faite sur place, puis refusée.

De locatie was prachtig, het ligt midden in het centrum van George Town dus alle bezienswaardigheden in de stad waren op loopafstand.

Amazing stay in the heart of Penang, George Town.
Pros:

We had a great stay at Aayu Chowrasta and would definitely recommend it, especially for couples who enjoy being right in the middle of the action. The location is unbeatable. It is literally by Chowrasta Market, which makes it perfect if you want to explore the heart of Penang’s food scene in George Town.

The staff was very kind, and we were a bit confused about how to get in at first, but Hariz (from the property management team) kindly guided us when we arrived at the property. We even had a staff member check in with us to make sure everything was okay and to see if there was anything else we needed, which we really appreciated.

The place itself was very clean and well taken care of, which made our stay comfortable from start to finish. We also really appreciated how spacious it was. It did not feel cramped at all, and the large bed was a big plus for us.

Another thing we loved was that it had all the essential amenities. Having a microwave, fridge, hair dryer, and air conditioning made a huge difference, especially in Penang’s heat. The air con worked very well, which we found especially important after a long day out.

Overall, it is a clean, spacious, and very well-located place with everything you need for a comfortable stay. We would happily stay here again.

Nice staying in Georgetown and great staff
Pros:

The room is really like in the picture (very spacious, well decorated and equipped). Special credit to the staff who was extremely helpful and caring (thanks Hariz). Even if I never saw him because it's a self check-in, he has been very responding to my needs. Very interesting location in a market area but still very peaceful at night

Cons:

You cannot really cook as there is no stove (I realise that having one might include some risks, but it could be placed in the external area)

Für ein paar Tage war es okay.
Pros:

Die Größe von dem Zimmer war sehr passend für uns mit kleinem Kind.

Cons:

Es war leider nicht so sauber wie wir es uns gewünscht hätten. Vor allem im Badezimmer waren überall Kleinigkeiten die man hätte sauber machen können. Unterm Bett war viel Staub und die Farbe/ Wand-Stein Brösel fallen auf den Boden und auch auf unsere Sachen und Kleidung. War nicht so schön und nervig.

Probably not the best place for solo female travellers
Pros:

It’s a big room. Location is walkable.

Cons:

It’s noisy from the market from 4am and so take earplugs. Also some noise from nighttime activities until around 11. The bathroom does not have AC. Self check in and no reception means little staff engagement. The location is hard to find and down a dark laneway - not ideal if arriving late and by yourself but fine during the day time. Use booking to liaise with staff as they didn’t respond on WhatsApp when I was lost arriving late at night. The area around the market clears out at nights so there are not many people about.
