Restaurant and bar closed too early
The property itself is beautiful, and the staff were genuinely lovely and welcoming. However the check in experience was more complicated than it needed to be, especially after a long day of driving to Morocco.
When we arrived we were asked to take a seat while they get us checked in, the receptionist was not specific about where we should wait. We ended up sitting in the restaurant area, where a waiter approached us with menus. I asked for some water, not realizing that we would be charged for it. Since we had not yet completed check-in, I was told that I could not simply sign the charge to the room. It was a small issue, but after such a long journey, it was an unnecessary hassle that could easily have been avoided with clearer communication from the beginning.
Another point that surprised me was being asked how much we wanted to leave as a security deposit. Having stayed in many hotels around the world, this was the first time I had been asked to determine the amount myself. In my experience, the security deposit is normally a standard amount established by the hotel, rather than something the guest is expected to estimate based on how much they might spend or which facilities they may use.
I had also specifically requested a room with a terrace when making the booking, and the hotel did provide one. However our terrace was directly by the pool which meant there was no privacy. I discussed this with the manager, who explained that unfortunately all of the rooms with terraces are located on the ground floor. I appreciate the explanation although I think this is something that would be useful for guests to know when booking as a terrace by the pool is quite different from a private terrace.
Unfortunately the check out experience also added to my concerns. When we were leaving, we asked one of the staff members to collect our suitcases and put them in the car. The staff member returned the car to us, but forgot to hand us the car key. As the car was already running, we drove away without realizing that we did not have the key.
I only noticed shortly afterwards and fortunately I was still in the same area at the time. I left the car and searched for the key but could not find it. It was only later after contacting the hotel and explaining the situation, that we discovered the key had actually been left in the hotel. Fortunately I had the spare key with me in the car by coincidence which is why we were still able to drive it. Had I not had the spare key, this could have turned into a very serious and potentially costly situation.
What was particularly disappointing was that, despite the mistake being made by the hotel staff, I was still asked to return to the hotel to collect the key. Given the circumstances, I would have expected at the very least a sincere apology and for the hotel to offer to send the key to me, rather than expecting me to make another trip back to collect it. At a five-star property, I would expect a much higher level of attention to detail and ownership when a mistake like this occurs.
One other area I believe management should look into is the breakfast buffet. There were no allergen indications or descriptions next to the dishes, which I feel is an important omission, particularly for guests with food allergies or dietary restrictions. Clear labelling of dishes and allergens is an important part of the guest experience and, more importantly, can be a matter of guest safety.
I mention this not simply as a criticism, but because I work in the same industry myself and genuinely believe that constructive feedback is an opportunity to improve.
Flera saker, bland annat;

The adult pool. Parking was easy. Room super comfortable & spacious with beautiful views and terrace to the pool.
All perfect
