Pros:

Very central and lovely staff. Rooms clean and air conditioned. Double bed rather than king and a little firm for me but this is a matter of opinion rather than a criticism. Was lucky to have a comfortable single bed in room so I claimed that. Bath was high to step into for a shower and could be better if grab rails were installed. I would definitely stay there again.

The room was not a deluxe, it was dirty, blood marks on the walls, footprints on the walls and the mattress was too small to even fit the bed base. The staff seemed unhelpful and not really bothered

Rubbish!
Pros:

Nothing! Hotel cancelled our booking to put homeless up! Disgusting!

Cons:

The whole experience, we travelled miles for a concert on my birthday, only to be told they cancelled our rooms. Council had put SWEP in place and the hotel put homeless in our rooms i pressume for a higher rate. Spoilt my birthday and my experience! Staff were rude and spoke in there own language, did not offer us any apology.

Friendly, kind staff, very comfortable beds.
Pros:

The staff were very friendly and kind. The toilets were not working for the time i was there but the staff did everything they could, kept me updated and included free cooked breakfast. The hotel was very nice and the bed was very comfortable but the friendly, helpful and kind staff is what made our stay.

Cons:

The toilets not working which couldn't be helped.

Great for the city centre
Pros:

It was in a perfectl location just opposite the train station in the centre of Newport. We didnt come by car but the carpark was just next door. The room was big enough and clean and the bed was comfy, nice assortment of toiletries. Good price for a Saturday night. The staff were very pleasant and helpful.we caught a cab a few yards from the hotel which was perfect. There are lots of bars around within walking distance, with a good variety of places to eat.

Cons:

We walked into the reception, which had a small bar at one end and a couple of tables, but it was quite sparse, not really welcoming, what put me off was the smell of drains, I couldn't have eaten breakfast in there. Perhaps it was just that occasion, but it did spoil it for me. There is also a nightclub next door and although the rooms were well insulated you still had the heavy beat of the music next door until 2am when it stopped. So be mindful if you like a peaceful night sleep.
