Pros:

The view of the river Tyne

Cons:

Doors getting slammed very loudly by staff and other residents. No mini fridges in the bedrooms making it hard to keep drinks cold, onsite restaurant not open

Great value, quiet and by the river
Pros:

The staff were incredibly attentive and helped us with any queries. Price included parking, which was good value for money. Had an excellent stay and right by the river so you can go for a lovely walk along there. Plenty of space in the rooms and good facilities.

Cons:

The hotel bar shut quite early and we had to return to our room when we were playing cards. This was also on a Saturday night so slightly odd that it shut at 10.

This place had the most beautiful view. The staff was nice and the room was clean, smelled great and had an espresso machine!

Cons:

The shower didn't have a very good drain and flooded the bathroom.

Pros:

The staff, while not the most competent – the pleasant young man at reception could not find a reservation that I made a year in advance, and for which I had fully paid a few days earlier – were very friendly.

Cons:

The location suggested attractive views over the river. There was a river. It was not actually ugly, but it was scarcely picturesque. The hotel itself was hard to find, and – bar some recently built flats – seemed essentially to be on an industrial estate.

The building was very run down, although reasonably clean – the bathroom was spotless; the bedroom could have done with some dusting. But generally a decent standard.

The café nextdoor are dog friendly the hotel is the same lovely vues and a grate way to wake up with a nice walk down the river

Expected a restaurant and bar. When we arrived we were informed that the kitchen was closed. (Refurbishment) wish we had options to cancel but not informed until we arrived .

Friendly staff. Room was clean and wel equipped.

Cons:

Extremely noisy all night in corridor outside room. Doors slamming people talking loudly from 18.00 right through to 8.00am.
Meant to be none smoking but could smell smoke coming from room and into corridor.
We booked for 4 nights but left after 1.

Lovely stat while visiting friends

Lovely stay at Rivers Hotel. We were kindly upgraded for free to a room with a beautiful river view, which was a lovely surprise. The room was clean and comfortable, and the staff were really friendly and helpful. Would definitely stay again!
