It had a roof
Not even kettle n tea stuff in room
Very convenient parking and bus route, with a coop and the seafront nearby (with lots of seaglass!). Kitchen amenities with large fridge. Large bed. Individually locked room, secure. One towel and one toilet roll provided. Bath and shower. Television with sofa and eating area.
Unfortunately hygiene and cleanliness were very poor, with lots of old rubbish and dust under the bed. The shower was broken, as well as the wardrobe. Some other smaller issues that added to the general vibe, e.g. streetlampt directly outside window with poor curtains (room fully lit up all night), no soap in the toilet (booking.com says toiletries included i think?), bathroom and kitchen very dirty with old dirty dishes in the sink. Sounds like there are some semi-permenent residents and the council sometimes uses this as temporary social housing. Also, slightly irrelevantly, all of the brick wallpaper is upside down!!! And not a sigle mirror in the whole house somehow which was slightly annoying

It’s comfortable and pleasant for the cost
Attention to detail, no bins in room, little things hanging off here and there. Things like black left in corridor under open stairs. The bin in kitchen not being removed and replaced after a few days. No one clearing freezer from previous occupiers etc. it gets confusing. There should be a policy that whatever is left will be thrown away to make space and for cleanliness for next guest. The cleaning isn’t very thorough.
The from door isn’t secure if you push it firmly it will open, thank God there’s another door to get through.
Those were just a few things that can be done to improve the guest experience.

Stayed for 3 nights in a single room at Seaside Coastal Rooms in Hawthorn while working in the area. The accommodation was clean, comfortable, and quiet — ideal for a work trip. The host was welcoming and made check-in easy. Great coastal location with lovely walks nearby. Would definitely stay again when back in the area.
