Casa de Sassy

I normally don’t write bad reviews but I’ll make an exception for Casa de Sassy. Don’t get fooled by the pictures. Upon arrival- before check in since we arrived early- we contacted the host. We were told to leave the luggage at their cafe nearby. Since the door was locked and we didn’t receive a code for the lock box we just waited until someone opened door, we placed our luggage in the garden. I noticed the pool was just disgusting and couldn’t see the bottom. Leaves all over the places and just no one that seemed to care. When we came back at check in time we entered the room and got welcomed by the funky smell. Since I’m in construction I know this is not good. The doors didn’t close properly and the paint on the walls/bed is discoloured towards grey/yellow on certain areas. There was a dead lizard on the wall that made clear cleaning isn’t something they do regularly. The bathroom -shower installation, vanity, tiling work- is just a joke and honestly have not come across this in Indonesia. We come to Bali 2 months a year. We regret every minute spend here.

The awful smell and musty air immediately affected our respiratory systems. When we raised concerns, management falsely claimed that no one had ever complained before. After looking through Airbnb and Booking reviews, we found numerous past complaints describing the exact same issues.

PAY ATTENTION TO THESE REVIEWS.

We wish we had seen them sooner. We ended up paying for two accommodations after being forced to leave for health reasons. There were many other complaints as well — including the dirty green pool that was unusable — but I’m focusing on the reviews that prove management was aware of the ventilation and mold problems and still chose to deny them.

Multiple reviews over several years describe the same uninhabitable conditions and respiratory issues. Instead of properly fixing the mold problem, it appears they simply paint over it. The mold and poor ventilation still affect the air quality and your health.
This was by far the worst accommodation we’ve experienced in any country.

They refused to give us our money back, but agreed to move us to a different room the next day. We both woke up feeling awful and with chest and throat issues (even though we slept with face masks on).

Some minor maintenance issues need attention - eg sliding door not rolling properly.
The dual shower set up is great but the water pressure and hot water could be better. No parking on site.

Infelizmente houve coisas que não acompanharam o requinte da propriedade. Fazerem obras todos os dias a partir das 9 da manhã durante todos os dias, quando a tarde não faziam nada. Estive alojado 4 dias, como passava muito tempo fora acabei por pedir so limpeza no último dia, não trocaram as toalhas e o gel de duche que já tinha acabado deixei aberto e não tiveram o cuidado de repor. Apenas fizeram a cama. Acho que esses detalhes faria da propriedade um local de excelência
