The location and the exterior
Dirty, no staff, amenities poor, no hot water, no towel or linens change, no cleaning anywhere ever. 1 ply toilet roll, mould in bathroom, faulty dirty shower, unstable plug sockets, dusty. Filthy doors, with grease and dirt stains on. One member of staff all week (the same staff member) corridor smelled of cannabis. Bar and breakfast room always shut. Creepy, hotel California vibes, better at the weekend when other guests are present but only in terms of feeling not isolated.
The manager was very attentive and eager to please. The location was lovely, in a big old building opposite a beautiful park with a fountain in the front. The towels were clean and very fluffy and the water was hot.
The overall rundown state of the building and facilities, and the "has seen better days" sensation is constantly present. The manager was the only member of staff around, and this was only sometimes, the main reception area being unattended. The cleanliness and state of repair of the hotel was below par.
That it is a opposite the Sefton park and only 2 miles from liverpool city centre. The sole staff member was helpful.
The bath room still had hairs on it, the room decor was tired looking and the bed was clean but not comfortable. Could feel the bed springs.
Nothing
Most things
The rooms were good and the manager Hassan was very nice to us. The location was perfect right beside Sefton park.
The location is brilliant . Staff are very nice . Hassan the manager was very accommodating
Some rooms in need of update
Very helpful manager
The first room we were placed in was filthy - dirt covered skirting boards, dirty smears on the window sill, wallpaper peeling off, appeared to be blood smears on the bathroom wall. Hallways smelt like fish, bin bags lined the hallways. We were also charged twice by booking.com, hotel unwilling to help and haven’t heard back from booking.com (you’re unable to speak to a person to resolve, all numbers and chats lead to AI). All round terrible experience, wouldn’t recommend anyone to stay here or book through booking.com.
We were upgraded to a bigger room which had a bath, which was nice.
No one was there when we arrived and we had to call to check in. It was around 4.30pm so within a reasonable window of time to check in.
The place smells a bit odd (subjective, I know).
Keypad entry to rooms is a bit off a faff with 12 digits!
Not in great condition.
Only 1 staff member dealing remotely
Expensive for the quality.
Decor poor too.
Bad odour in hallways
The location was good
Obviously in need of updating and good clean in bathroom
It was the hottest day of the year and the south facing room curtains were left open. It was about 40 degrees in the room. I ended up sleeping in my car.
Nice and clean room.
Excellent location for Sefton Park and Lark Lane.
Friendly management and staff.
Free parking also a plus.
The location
The room was disgraceful covered in dust not been cleaned for god knows how long someones sock or something behind bed light hanging out of ceiling shower gel bottle broke and empty was absolute disgraceful
I loved the location of the hotel; it is situated next to a massive, beautiful park. The room was really clean; management are very attentive and also on the ball with new tech: you always can reach them on WhatsApp, and they respond immediately.
While air conditioning would certainly enhance comfort, it is understandable that it is not always possible to install it in the old buildings. We have opened windows and used the provided fan to get fresh air in the room. I have to say that we stayed during the heatwave... and fan has cooled the room just fine.
