Le petit déjeuné n’était pas génial, le café était en poudre, mais il y avait ce qu’il fallait.

The lack of cleanliness to cobwebs, cheap toilet rolls, radiator hanging off the wall, vanity light on dressing table not working. Oban break

Building could use an upgrade

Cleanliness of room was terrible.
Other peoples hair on carpet! Which straight away makes the whole feel of the room dirty! Which it was dust levels on floor level awful especially around the bed.
Not to mention under the bed hadnt seen a vacum in a long time
No water in the toilet cistern therefor wouldnt flush.
Shower awful shower head leaking and no presuure.
Worst of all staining on the bed unacceptable.
Decor badly done to say the least throughout.
Also very cold building throughout.
Breakfast more then terrible 7-30 - 9.30 arrived at 8.45 all stone cold .
Member of staff said he would turn it up to heat it up...no thank you! Toast will do
Would not return.

Extremely disappointing – poor service, dreadful food and a ruined trip

Our experience at the Muthu Queen's Hotel in Oban was disappointing from the moment we arrived.

As we parked directly outside the restaurant window, we could clearly see the receptionist and waiter standing chatting. They watched us unload our luggage and enter the hotel, yet nobody came to reception to greet us. After waiting two or three minutes, I eventually had to go into the restaurant to find the receptionist, who apologised and claimed she had been checking the bar. There wasn't a single customer in either the restaurant or bar.

Our first instinct was to turn around and leave, but having already booked through Booking.com, we decided to give the hotel a chance. Unfortunately, that was a mistake.

We enquired about a dinner, bed and breakfast deal on arrival and decided to eat in the restaurant. To be fair, the starters of calamari and prawns were enjoyable. However, the main course was quite another story.

Given that the hotel advertised curry nights, I was surprised to find only one curry dish on the menu. I specifically asked whether the chicken tikka masala was homemade and was assured that it was.

What arrived was quite possibly the worst chicken tikka masala I have ever encountered. It had the appearance and consistency of an overheated supermarket ready meal. The sauce was so watery it resembled soup, and the waiter actually offered us spoons because it was virtually impossible to eat with a fork. It was dreadful.

Breakfast the following morning was no improvement. The beans and eggs were stone cold.

To add insult to injury, when checking out we were charged £77 for dinner. We were told that we hadn't booked a dinner, bed and breakfast package. While I fully accept that our original Booking.com reservation did not include dinner, we had specifically enquired about the package on arrival.

The hotel looks a bit tired and the general areas such as the corridors were absolutely freezing so it was good to get into our room
