This hotel is a listed building and consequently is unsuitable for disabled guests. There are no ground floor rooms and the lift only operates from the first floor accessible after climbing one flight of stairs.

I booked but the booking. Com software changed the dates. I asked politely to change the dates to the ones I needed. That was refused. That's why I'm giving it a crap review.

The room we had was huge and the bed was super comfy. The breakfast available was a good selection of Scottish breakfast items which were nice. The bathroom was great and the bath we had was a hot tub model so that was a treat to use.
The bar downstairs wasn’t open for our entire stay which was a bit disappointing as we found ourselves wanting to play pool with a drink while we stayed there.

Clean comfortable rooms, staff were lovely, super nice, breakfast was Buffett style with a good choice, again staff were very attentive throughout our stay.
Lift was out of order ,and when you have to a few trips back and forth with motorcycle luggage and what not, and your on the 3 floor .. but it didn’t take way the enjoyment of our stay , just a slight inconvenience when your already tired from a full days ridingz

Plentiful buffet breakfast which was HOT and toaster made great TOAST.
(any other buffet breakfast we've had has been lukewarm and toast has just been hot bread)
We were in a room on the 4th floor and the lift was out of action. My husband is 70yrs old and struggled with our bag with so many stairs we had a few stops before we got to our room. The hotel wasn't that busy so perhaps we could have been offered a room on a lower floor.

Lift not working but managable
The dinner and breakfast were fine as were the staff who tried to be helpful. However it was obvious that it was operating on a skeleton staff with the receptionist running around ragged. She was checking people in, serving at the bar AND then serving in the restaurant! Management need to sort this out!
When we arrived, we discovered that the lift wasn't working (with no chance of an engineer for days apparently).....................not ideal when your room is on the second floor and your sister is elderly and has COPD. This meant using the stairs 9 times in one day! We ended up going home after just one night's stay. I have made my feelings known to Muthu and am awaiting their decision on a partial refund! Considering so many of the other guests were also elderly (and complained about the stairs) I would have thought an engineer would have been a priority!
Der Parkplatz war vor der Tür, das Bad war schön. Im Zimmer gab es Tee und heiße Schokolade. Das Zimmer hatte ausreichend Platz.
Wir wurden im Hinterhaus, das einem grauen Klotz aus den 70er Jahren ähnelte in der 3. Etage untergebracht. Der Fahrstuhl war kaputt und wurde in der Zeit des Aufenthalts auch nicht repariert. Beim Tragen der Koffer in die 3. Etage hat niemand geholfen. Das Zimmer war sehr hellhörig. Als die Menschen, die über uns das Zimmer hatten, nach Hause kamen, dachten wir, sie würden in unserem Zimmer stehen. Es wurde uns Meerblick versprochen. Dieser war allerdings durch den Blick aufs Vorderhaus verstellt. Das Frühstück war eintönig und sehr mittelmäßig .

LIFT out of order and on 4th floor. Only told this on arrival!!! Both senior citizens told no other rooms available. Given 1 room on 1st floor then moved to 4th due to flood in bathroom. Breakfast selection poor and staff not properly trained. Tables not properly set for breakfast. Had to ask for napkins and cutlery. Waited over an hour for dinner one evening. No prospect of lift being fixed. No proper housekeeping of room during stay.

Non c’è l’ascensore, lo scalda salviette dove erano gli asciugamani era sporco. L’ultima mattina, mentre ero in bagno, è entrata un addetto alle pulizie, senza bussare. Ha lasciato la porta aperta, fissandola con il contenitore dei detersivi. La mia valigia era nell’ingresso e mancava un’ora al check out. Mi sono molto spaventata e arrabbiata prima con lui poi con la direzione
