We booked "Hanza Tower Original 21st Floor – Sea and City View" for €537 for 2 nights , expecting a premium experience as this was at least DOUBLE the price of hotels - the photos also confirmed this. What we got was an average room on the 5th floor overlooking a car park.

I called the owners to report that we were grossly overcharged and misled, and to request cancellation. They were helpful on the phone and agreed to refund me if I cancelled the booking. According to the host, they weren't able to accept a full cancellation. I did so in good faith - they then proceeded to block me on WhatsApp, so I could no longer contact them, leaving them with the full amount and apartment. I have since tried calling the 'hosts' on a different number, as they blocked me, and they claim to be different people unconnected to the property, even though it's the same number and photo. I then tried to call the number provided on their booking.com profile, which is different to the number they contacted me on - I got through to a completely different person who claims not to have a booking.com account at all. The whole thing stinks!

Here's what you need to know about many Hanza Tower listings:

🚩 Be aware of a Polish woman called Sylwia and her German husband - number +49 176 31426213
🚩Apartments are heavily sugar-coated as "luxury" but are not
🚩 Advertised facilities like SPA are in a completely separate hotel building — not part of your stay
🚩 Prices are SIGNIFICANTLY inflated for what you actually get - I could find perfect rooms available at the Radisson Blue hotel for HALF the price, with Spa included - which is where ended up staying
🚩 Hosts may collect your bank details under the pretence of a refund and then disappear

Pros:

Хорошее расположение, можно сходить в сауну. Есть не большая кухня.

Cons:

Платная парковка о которой я не знал, в том же здании в подвале. 20 евро. Если б я знал о парковке - взял бы в другом месте.

Immer wieder gerne.
Pros:

Sehr gute Lage. Die Kommunikation mit dem Vermieter (deutsche Sprache) war vorab sehr gut. Einen Stellplatz für unser Auto konnten wir so schon im Voraus bezahlen und hatten alle Daten parat, um die Tiefgarage nutzen zu können. Ideal!! Das hat alles viel entspannter gemacht.
Das Apartment war ebenfalls sehr gut. Was wir nach unserem Stadtrundgang gerne genossen haben, war die tolle Sicht von der 27. Etage. Der Pin dafür war inclusive der guten Informationen im Voraus.

Heerlijk bad met prachtiy uitzicht en zacht beddengoed. Heerlijke luxe douche. Ik las ergens dat iets zou lekken maar dat was niet zo hoor. Alles was heerlijk.
