Review Highlights

Pros:
Very friendly and attentive staff
Excellent breakfast and restaurant
Clean, well-restored hotel with attractive decoration
Beautiful gardens and relaxing atmosphere
Spa described as clean and staff attentive
Cons:
Indoor pool/spa temperature too cold
Slippery flooring in spa area and small interior pool
Inconsistent room sizes; some rooms small and mattress too soft
Difficult pedestrian access (muddy approach) in places

Categories

Cleanliness
1
Repeated positive mentions: 'limpo', 'propreté', 'hotel sempre aromático', spa and public areas described as clean and well maintained.
Service
1
Very strong positive sentiment for staff throughout reviews: 'simpatia', 'atendimento espetacular', 'personnel aux petits soins' — attentive and professional service reported consistently.
Location
1
Mixed sentiment: praised for central / historic location, but several comments note difficult pedestrian access (muddy approach, recommendation for a walkway) which lowers the score slightly.
Room Quality
1
Mixed to negative: while some guests called rooms 'incrível' or 'enorme', there are specific complaints about small rooms, a too-soft mattress and at least one mention of a cramped room — overall inconsistent room quality leads to a significant negative adjustment.
Amenities
1
Mixed: gardens and SPA cleanliness are praised, but multiple guests report issues with spa/pool (cold water, low interior pool temperature, small indoor pool, slippery flooring) that materially detract from amenities.
Value for Money
1
Generally positive: guests mention reasonable restaurant prices and express intent to return, indicating perceived good value.
Food and Beverage
1
Strongly positive: repeated praise for breakfast variety and quality, restaurant meals and wine list ('pequeno almoço maravilhoso', 'restaurante magnífico').
Overall Experience
1
Overall mixed: many 5-star impressions due to service, cleanliness and food, but recurring practical issues (room sizing/mattress, spa/pool problems, access) reduce the net overall satisfaction slightly.

Pros:

Beautiful historic property. Please as Mr accommodating staff

Cons:

The restaurant was not open for lunch or dinner on the day of our stay, leaving only a limited bar option. That should not happen at a hotel of this quality.

Pros:
