Stressful arrival spoiled and meagre refreshments, spoiled a potentially nice hotel in pretty location.
Pros:

Nice location. Clean. Comfortable enough.

Cons:

We arrived 10.55pm (after a 7hr journey). Main entrance was unlocked, but building unmanned and in darkness. We had great difficulty finding our room (having to find our way through the dark lounge, etc) to discover we had not been emailed the code to our room. No phone signal indoors, so had to go back outside to call the night porter. He was pleasant and did come and assist us, but by this time we had struggled for 45min and were exhausted and stressed. The ‘refreshments’ consisted of 2 Tea-bags, 2 decaf and 2 regular coffee sachets- so very rationed and no complimentary edibles. Toiletries were also meagre (tiny shower gel and shampoo to share and no conditioner). Breakfast was ok, but eggs not as ordered and lactose free milk.

Perfect hotel in lovely location.
Pros:

Delightful hotel. The room was fresh and clean and comfortable. Staff were chatty and welcoming. Breakfast choice excellent and tasty. Lounge areas were cosy and very comfortable. Great location in beautiful village with a Scottish castle across the road! What more could you ask for? The best hotel towels I have had anywhere! Soft fluffy and huge! And firm comfy pillows too!

Cons:

Nothing really!
