Good location to explore London and close to Paddington hub to go anywhere in the city.
Pros:

Good location. Room was OK.

Cons:

The bed was in an alcove with no space either side, so felt rather cramped. There was also no window with an external view.

Comfortable and good value
Pros:

The double room was clean and comfortable, and a fan was provided because of the warm weather. All the staff were courteous and pleasant. A reasonable location not far from Lancaster Gate tube station. Various cafes and restaurants available nearby.

Cons:

The double room was very "compact", but many hotel rooms in this area tend to be small.
The TV would not work well because of poor reception. Very basic in terms of room facilities - no fridge, no chair, nowhere to put your toiletries above the bathroom washbasin. A fan was provided in the room, but I would not have been able to tolerate the temperature if it was over 30° outside.
Certainly not soundproofed - you can hear every neighbour closing doors (usually slamming them). Clean overall, but corridors need refurbishing.

Excellently placed London hotel
Pros:

The hotel was just around the corner from Paddington Station. The room was bigger than what one would expect in a central London budget hotel. Breakfast was good but can be improved.

Cons:

Our room had tv but no bbc1 which was a problem as we could not watch the World Cup football

Very poorly maintained - no care. Better nearby for same money.

Nice inexpensive room near Hyde Park
Pros:

It had everything needed, but nothing more, and the location is nice, near Hyde Park. I was there for the second time

Cons:

It is very old, window and door does not close properly, the room could have used a chair, but as we did not pay much, this is irrelevant
