Beautiful property, attentive staff, great location
Ligging, uitzicht, kamer
Het ontbijt was ondermaats voor een 5 sterrenhotel. Geen stokbrood (we zijn Frankrijk!!!), roerei was precies pap, kleine porties kaas, kortom beneden alle peil !
More a country estate house than a Chateau. Very comfortable and very good restaurant.
Welcoming was unfortunately not very good. We had tried earlier to make a reservation for dinner and on arrival we were told that it was fully booked. Only after walking out and saying we would go to another hotel were we told that there was a table for 2 that just became available.
Beautiful hotel, iconic views, stay in a suite if you can.
Welcoming and helpful staff. Huge bath with view of Reims and breakfast was fabulous.
Overall, the hotel left a good impression, but I wouldn’t call it a solid five-star property — it’s more of a strong four-star hotel.
For a five-star level, some basic service elements are missing. For example, there was no bellboy to assist with luggage. There was a very kind receptionist who did her job perfectly and even offered to help with the bags, but honestly, it doesn’t feel right to ask her to carry suitcases — it’s simply a matter of proper service standards.
Regarding the room (Winston Churchill), there was no wardrobe at all — nowhere to hang clothes, which is quite surprising for a hotel of this level.
Breakfast was also disappointing. Expectations were much higher. There seemed to be some confusion with the service: either the staff didn’t fully understand us in English, or something else went wrong. For a table of four, each of us ordered cold cuts, sausages, and a fruit salad, but in the end, only one portion of each was served. After we asked again, another single portion was brought 10 minutes later. Only the fruit salads were eventually served to each person — but by that time, we were already about to leave due to the long wait. The pastries also left much to be desired.
The views from the hotel, however, are absolutely outstanding — 10/10.
Considering all of the above, the price feels noticeably overpriced for what the hotel actually offers.
In summary: a pleasant stay, but the hotel does not quite meet five-star expectations and does not justify its price.
I loved the vibe and decoration of the building and the rooms. The breakfast was lovely, and the staff was friendly. The outdoor hot soaking tub was a unique experience as well.
I felt that my stay was significantly overpriced. I booked the best room available, but it did not resemble the videos I had seen on social media at all. The property was also eerily empty, which made for a strange atmosphere. I noted in my reservation that it was my birthday, but the only acknowledgment I received from the chateau was a tiny chocolate dessert during breakfast.
We decided to use the outdoor hot tub in the morning and wanted to make some tea for our soak. However, the water in the kettle at the spa was old and moldy. Additionally, the slippers meant for us to use in the spa appeared used and dirty. Overall, this experience did not meet my expectations, especially after paying over $800 for a one-night stay.
