The receptionist Martina was brilliant. The location was lovely. Very clean and comfortable. It's really a business hotel so it lacks a bit of character. However , we really enjoyed our stay. Harry's restaurant- delicious food. The gym was apparently very well equipped. Didn't use the spa. Our bathroom (exec suite) was huge and lovely. Not a bath just shower fyi.
The Hall itself is a beautiful building but most of the rooms are in the new build extension. Bit of a shlep for some people.
Not so much dislike at all. Hotel just a bit too corporate for us. That's not our preference.
Nice estate house with lovely gardens and grounds. The breakfast was nice, similar to most hotels of that range in variety and quality.
The spa on Saturday evening was too busy. All three areas, the pool, steam room and sauna felt crowded, you had to wait for a moment that someone left, in order to go in. It would make sense to introduce time slots to control numbers of people.
Rooms were small comfortable, Breakfast was very good, parking was plentiful, grounds are very relaxing. Zircon available on request not as standard only fans so for summer stays be aware because the windows don't open that wide for safety reasons
bar staff I met was a bit unsociable! Garden seating needs parasols for very sunny days.
Stunning property and grounds. Very friendly and helpful staff.
Only thing was that the pillows weren’t very comfortable.
Hotel staff and security staff were very helpful, welcoming and professional. Facilities were very clean. I would recommend to family and friends.
I travelled 90 plus miles from home. The only issue was roads blocks on the M40 that made the journey slightly longer.
the hotel bar dinning and spa and communal areas and grounds are lovely and well cared for
no air conditioner in the room it was very close and hot (heat wave) they did supply a desk fan but was uncomfortable.
there was no air conditioning in the bedrooms on a very hot night
Everything beautiful location
Nothing
Convenient location close to Milton Keynes where I needed to be yet far enough away to be quiet and pleasant. I liked the courtyard room and also enjoyed the pool and spa facilities. Decent restaurant with attentive service.
Negative is the buffet breakfast. I get very disheartened by these and it really detracts from the experience. The pillows were really uncomfortable. Some of the worst I’ve encountered!
It had lovely grounds to walk around and sit and have a drink.
The bedding was sub quality. Pillows especially.
grounds are beautiful, the gym was well equipped
I really wanted to like this hotel as the grounds are beautiful, the gym was well equipped and I enjoyed walking around the estate. The food in Harry’s was also decent. Unfortunately, the negatives outweighed the positives.
* No air conditioning in the standard rooms, which made the room unbearable in the heat.
* The fan in my room was broken and it took over an hour to bring me a replacement.
* When I complained about the lack of air conditioning, I was told I could upgrade to a room with AC for £370 for one night, which I found unreasonable.
* The shower taps were extremely difficult to turn off.
* I found three cockroaches in the bathroom and have video evidence.
* The Wi-Fi barely worked in my room.
* Reception staff weren’t particularly welcoming.
* The welcome information didn’t state what time the swimming pool opens on Sundays.
* I put the “Please service my room” sign on my door before going out on Saturday and was away for several hours. When I returned, the sign was still hanging on my door and my room hadn’t been cleaned, so it was obvious housekeeping hadn’t even checked my room.
The biggest disappointment was arriving. The hotel’s advertising heavily features the beautiful Manor House. My Uber drove down the long driveway towards it and I genuinely thought, “Wow, this is the spa retreat I’ve booked.” Then we turned the corner to reception, which is attached to a separate hotel building. My excitement instantly disappeared because it wasn’t what I’d expected from the photos. While the Manor House is part of the hotel, the marketing gave me the impression I’d be staying in that stunning building.
The service in Harry’s also needs improving. I was sitting outside waiting to order, but nobody came over, so I eventually had to go inside and find someone. While I was there on Saturday afternoon, I also overheard members of staff arguing with each other in front of guests. It was uncomfortable to witness and came across as very unprofessional.
Nice location
Amazing hotel.
Lovely setting and grounds breakfast was good staff in restaurants friendly and helpful
Room very small and extremely hot, stayed in the recent heatwave. As hotel was 4 star expected air conditioning instead had a standard fan in room which just blew hot air around. Very long walk to room in hot corridors.
Everything the pool area is great ,the restaurant was excellent great food and staff,The whole place is well well done and thought out ,would highly rate our sta y
