Great rooms and decent place for golfers but not the bar
Pros:

Rooms were excellent and very clean

Cons:

I did not appreciate paying a different price for wine than advertised on the published list and being told “oh they are out of date”, as if that is a reasonable statement. Barman couldn’t care less. Also the bar itself was not a pleasant place to spend time. Too bright and poorly decorated

Lovely stay, we will be returning
Pros:

We stayed in one of the lodges, x4 adults & x1 baby. The lodge had all the appliances and utensils needed to cook a full English one morning and grilled kebabs another night. The rooms were comfortable and the en-suite as well as a family bathroom was a pleasant surprise. The lodge we stayed in had a gate stopping access to the balcony, which was ideal with a little one but would also be useful for dogs

Fitted our needs for an overnighter.
Pros:

Comfort of room and public areas.

Cons:

Access from hotel to bar/restaurant was outside. Given a sudden atrocious weather day this was very inconvenient.
At breakfast the staff were not monitoring the hot food supply and there was a considerable wait for items to be topped up.

Mostly good
Pros:

Room was very nice, reception staff and golf staff were very good helpful and attentive.
Restaurant/bar staff were polite and friendly.

Cons:

There was obviously a big problem with breakfast, service was not being replenished and tables not being cleared. Much of the hot food service was empty with people waiting....for about 10 minutes....and then only a few items arrived not nearly enough for those waiting !!!
Bread for toast, fruit, yoghurt, pastries all gone and no attempt to replenish a d this at 9.00am when service was supposed to be available until 10.00am.
I spoke to the manager and so some other guests who both to me this was not norm for this hotel.....I hope for future sake it was a "one off".

A very nice surprise
Pros:

Very nice setting for a quiet countryside midweek break. Good sized rooms and spacious dining / social areas, both inside and out. The restaurant prices were very comparable with those of country hostelries, which was a nice surprise.

Cons:

The bed was fine, but I prefer something a little firmer, though it would certainly not prevent me staying again.

Good choice made when I booked.
Pros:

Clean tidy place. Large room and bathroom. Comfortable bed. Great bar/restaurant and the views over the golf course were lovely. Food was inexpensive as was the drink. Expected to pay more in a hotel.

Cons:

Maybe aircon would be a bonus but the fan in the room sufficed.
