A disappointing stay in Folkstone.
Pros:

Great location. Friendly team.

Cons:

Incredibly hot room with no air conditioning. A fan was provided but really didn't help.

The shower over bath wasn't non-slip, there was no hair dryer in the room and it wasn't clear where additional towels were kept. Far too many reasons to have to contact the front desk. I just want to check in and relax, not have to chase around for essentials.

A good option for a short overnight stay while you’re passing through.
Pros:

Easy to reach, good breakfast. Nice neighborhood. Bathroom new and well equipped.

Cons:

I was asked for my room number four times during breakfast, which felt a bit excessive, especially when no one else is around.
No close by parking guaranteed. Metal spring bed was not comfortable.

Really excellent - will definitely stay there again
Pros:

Beautiful old hotel. We had a Deluxe King Room with King Bed and View, with a couple of armchairs at the window. The view is mostly of another beautiful building across the way, but you can see the sea on the side. Would definitely book this room again or on a higher floor (we were on the first floor). The French manager (?) was a delight to talk to. The bartender is a real pro!

Cons:

I thought it had air conditioning when I booked it, but I was mistaken (not their fault). We were there on a couple of extremely hot nights and it was hard to sleep even with the provided fan. They do have an air conditioned bar and restaurant, but it doesn't open until 4 pm. It would be nice if they could open it earlier on very hot days. One of the two (?) lifts was out of order during our entire stay (the one that went down to the restaurant level), though it didn't affect us, as we used the impressive staircase.

Birthday weekend escape, easily walkable to the centre and a great weekend away
Pros:

Lovely room, was smaller irl than the pictures. Great there was free parking nearby. The hotel has 12 free bays directly outside the entrance, however these were full. I found free parking on the road to the left of the hotel. They also offer parking permits until 12noon the next day for around £7.50.
Easily walkable to the town centre, harbour and lighthouse.

Cons:

I paid for a 'sea view' room however it was more a view of the hotel in front. You could peep the sea a teeny bit to the right but would say don't worry about paying extra for a seaview.

Pros:

Location was good. Paid extra for better room

Cons:

A lift not working. My husband disabled, which put more pressure on me to help. There were stairs which he struggled with and walking

Pros:

Good but more information and being shown to the room would be appreciated
Pros:

I like the history

Cons:

It was extremely hot and no air con and due to scaffolding could barley open the windows. Also parking is a massive issue!!

Could be a great hotel with more attention to detail.
Cons:

Checking in was difficult. The receptionist was alone, with a queue, so we were not told all that we needed to know. And no offers to help with luggage to the room.
The room was fine, but one of the two lifts was u/s and that was the one that went down to the restaurant and bar.
The wifi was poor and then not operational.
Management was noticeable by his absence.

Eigentlich schön, aber...
Pros:
