Clean room, helpful staff, it's an old Victorian building so has its quirks. Car Parking is poor with only about 10 spaces, pay to park on the streets is expensive so do your homework before you travel.
The location was perfect for Folkestone shuttle - also for walking the dog along the sea front - which was much nicer than expected. There were many old Victorian buildings housing many memories & history.
The bar area was an added bonus where we could eat with the dog in tow & the food & service were fine.
The staff seemed helpful & friendly. The bedroom although was old had plenty of space & every necessity provided.
Breakfast provided everything needed to start the day.
We asked for a quite room which itself wasn't noisy or had outside noise from traffic etc but we were right next to the lift which provided us with an unwanted banging of doors etc. No other faults that come to mind.
Lovely old hotel, in a nice quiet tucked away part of The Leas.
The downstairs bar was nice enough, and the staff were great, but I’d rather the upstairs bar was open for residents.
Room wise, we stayed in a very hot week so it may have been an unfair period to compare, but our room was next to some sort of boiler room and it was very uncomfortable temperature-wise. There is a fan in the desk, but no air con, and the rooms were frankly unfit for human habitation in that heat. When I went to the front desk (the rooms phone didn’t work), I was just told that there was no air con and there was a fan.
Spacious and equipped
The bed frame could be improved
Great location
The room was small, dark and very hot. Unwilling to have the window open during the night as the room was on the first floor with scaffolding outside. The toilet flush does not work properly, staff said it would be fixed - it wasn’t.
Freundliches Personal.
Charmantes altes Hotel in guter Lage, Winziges Zimmer ohne Lüftungsmöglichkeit be großer Hitze. Die Qualität des Essens kann mit der ambitioniert formulierten Speisekarte nicht mithalten, schnoddrige Bedienung.
Nice quiet hotel, comfortable rooms, cheerful staff, great breakfast and a beautiful building with original features. Near a bus stop to get down to the harbour, the station, Hythe etc
Steps up to reception but they did help us.
Just spent two nights at the Burlington Hotel, we found the hotel clean, all the staff were friendly and efficient. Bar and restaurant prices reasonable for a hotel.
