Categories

Cleanliness
1
Mixed signals: several guests explicitly call the property 'fresh and clean' or 'comfortable and clean', but others describe grubby areas, tatty sofas and shower grout issues — overall slightly negative/mixed.
Service
1
Generally positive: multiple mentions of helpful reception staff (Brett specifically), staff responding quickly to requests despite being short-staffed.
Location
1
Consistently praised: many reviews highlight a great location (close to quay, good for walking into the city / Northumbria uni).
Room Quality
1
Spacious and nicely decorated in places, but recurrent negatives: broken TVs, ripped/old furniture, tatty sofas, locked main entrance issues and uncomfortable pillows — overall below expectations.
Amenities
1
Notable shortcomings: missing kitchenware (very limited pans/crockery), no hairdryer, no shower toiletries, no AC/fans during heatwave, broken lift and broken TV reported; amenities are a clear weakness.
Value for Money
1
Perceived as budget-friendly with very large spaces and good location; some guests note it matches a budget price, though a few cite issues (deposit policy) that reduce perceived value slightly.
Food and Beverage
1
No mentions of food or beverage in the reviews; assigned target overall rating.
Overall Experience
1
Overall mixed-to-positive: many guests would stay again and found stays comfortable and spacious, but repeated issues (amenities, worn furniture, broken TV) tempered the experience.

Pros:

Have to say when you’re not so tired arriving, ALL the information received via WhatsApp is very clear indeed, which is great.

I’d fortunately arrived at the same time as others had, so entry to the block was made easy. I hadn’t had time to read the arrival information, but the member of staff on hand, kindly assisted me getting to my room.

Later in the evening, another member of staff answered my call when I panicked at the entry coming back. Most helpfully, he talked me through it all and sent information by text too.

It was only later I'd read everything sent via WhatsApp and seen the very helpful video because the keys on the keypad weren't that clear.

Man seen at the outset attended very swiftly to help me with operating the microwave

Cons:

A few cleaning issues in the kitchen area were brought to staff's attention.

Understand now messages are generic but I found the repetitive (asking about ID stating there'd be £150 taken in case of damage) emails a bit stressful right from the time of booking. When I wasn't getting replies to my emails I called and service was much improved

As said, staff once at Central Apartments were very helpful.

Great location and hosts.
Pros:

Great location and communication. Apartment was perfect for what we needed.

Cons:

There was a small amount of wear and tear in places which is to be expected but it did not impact the comfort or cleanliness of the apartment.

Superb. Very, very central. Very, very cool.
Pros:

We took it last minute due to a hotel mix up. Tony and team were amazing and very, very, very accommodating. We went from abject panic - because myself and family were without accommodation due to a double book - to total calm and serenity…in a superb apartment, overlooking the most beautiful part of the Tyne.

We loved the stay - and won’t be staying in hotels in future toon visits…it’s Tony & co all the way 🙌🙌👍

Cons:

Nothing. All good.
