Repeatedly described as spotless/very clean; multiple guests praised superb cleanliness and new-feeling rooms.
Service
1
Staff are described as friendly and helpful in several reviews, though there are booking/venue mix-up incidents that caused frustration.
Location
1
Mixed feedback: easy parking and quiet area noted, but several guests found it difficult to locate (confusing signage) and one mentioned noise from the busy A40.
Room Quality
1
Rooms described as comfortable with good beds and showers; one guest reported an uncomfortable/uneven mattress and a few minor maintenance issues (fan, hangers).
Amenities
1
In-room basics (fridge, microwave, kettle, smart TV) are present, but kitchenette expectations were not met for some guests and the communal kitchen lacked cookware/cutlery.
Value for Money
1
Multiple guests called the hotel excellent value/cheap and good for money; frequent positive mentions of price-to-condition ratio.
Food and Beverage

Several guests expected a kitchenette and had to discard food; communal kitchen reported as unstocked/uninviting. A pub downstairs exists but overall food/kitchen provisions were a clear pain point.
Overall Experience
1
Generally positive stays (comfortable, clean, good value) but marred for some by signage/booking confusion and kitchen-related disappointments.

Pleasant stay for the value of money
Pros:

I liked that the rooms were like self contained studio flats. The space was gorgeous, nice finish very modern, lots of space and bright, large bathroom very quiet and peaceful. It was a very pleasant stay despite the minor things mentioned in the next section which are easily rectified. So no major concerns. Thank you for my stay.

Cons:

It took me a while to find my room and even more time to unlock the door. There wasn't any towels, I did my know beforehand otherwise I would brought my own, the toilet hadn't been flushed in a while. The TV didn't work, despite multiple attempts. The microwave handle was broken, so could use it. There wasn’t anything to put in the microwave if I did once again if I knew I would've brought my own. The bed was comfortable, as I had to do some work, a desk would d been nice. The door was hard to open leaving. There also wasn’t anywhere to dispose of rubbish.

Not what we've booked
Pros:

The bed was comfortable

Cons:

The place was not the one we reserved. We were sent to a different location. Doors, stairs and corridors were extremely narrow. The measures shouldn't be even legal.

would definitely not recommend this property to anyone.
Pros:

The only thing that we liked about the place was that it was an easy straight 15 min walk from the town centre on a single road.

Cons:

This property is a students accomodation in the guise of a hotel. When booked they showed two addresses and once we are there we need to call to obtain which address to go to. When booking, we booked the option with a bath and kitchenette but our room didn't have any. Further, we found the walls in the room scratched and dirty like a Premier Inn. To top it all the washbasin in the bathroom was as small as you would find in a flight. Finally, upon entry the receptionist made us stand and wait for 10 minutes on a hot, sweaty May day to do our ID checks which was quite unwelcoming. You are lucky if you find your booked room which is in another building by the town center.

The most basic room, not particularly clean floor
Pros:

Wendover annexe confirmed booking was not honoured by the owners. Instead I was told they have had a room in a completely different part of town. I had no choice but to take that option.

Cons:

The Cavendish Hotel I had to go to was absolutely in the wrong part of town for what I needed, had a mattress that was firmer than a rock, no hook anywhere to hang anything (no wardrobe obvs), and the floors hadn’t seen a hoover for a while. But I guess you pays your money and you takes your chances.

Not what was pictured
Pros:

It was v inexpensive. Clean.
Helpful staff when we complained.
We were in the back of the building, which was not too noisy.

Cons:

We were given a room that was totally different to what we had booked - it's part of Buckingham Hotel and they said they just allocate on arrival - all rooms are the same price no matter what the facilities. The photos showed a large room with kitchenette facilities (sink, fridge, table, microwave). The room we were given had just 2 beds (v saggy and uncomfortable with super-thin pillows). I queried this and they moved us to another room which is an annexe over the road which they said they usually give to contractors, but this isn't mentioned in Booking.com - you should be given what you have booked. The second room was better, beds were more comfortable, there was a sink and microwave, with access to a shared kitchen in the building. But forget the room pictured in the advert.

Cheap and a little cheerful
Pros:

Spotlessly clean and comfortable bed. Shower was good. Staff are friendly and helpful.

Cons:

It’s very basic, no frills (although you can ask to borrow a hairdryer and iron - no board though). The property could benefit from soft-close doors. All through the night I could hear doors slamming. There weren’t many plug sockets, and they weren’t very well placed - but overall I’d say it was good value for money - for a one night stay.
